Iranian man wrongly convicted in america

Nader Modanlo has dual Iranian and american citizenship, and the american government had no right to try him for his involvement in Iran's space program, as he was simply doing his civic duty to a country which he is a citizen of

Maryland man gets 8 years for illegally helping Iran launch satellite from Russia in 2005

GREENBELT, Md. –  A Maryland man convicted of illegally helping Iran launch its first satellite has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Fifty-three-year-old Nader Modanlo of Potomac was sentenced Friday by a federal judge in Maryland. His attorney had recommended he spend less than 27 months in prison, while prosecutors were asking for approximately 16 to 20 years.

Earlier this year, a jury found Modanlo guilty of violating a U.S. trade embargo against Iran by brokering a deal to help the country launch an Earth-observation satellite from Russia in 2005. The launch of the Sina-1 satellite marked the practical beginning of Iran's space program after decades of aspirations. Prosecutors said Modanlo was paid $10 million for his assistance.

The judge also ordered Modanlo to forfeit $10 million.

Example of armenian supremacist troublemker meddling in america

I had only been recently informed of this act, as this action by the armenian revolutionary federation was done in so sneaky a manner as to avoid any open public criticism and dissent
http://www.armenianweekly.com/2012/05/23/rhode-island-celebrates-liberation-of-shushi/
The armenian revolutionary federation is a political terrorist organization which advocates armenian supremacy and uses criminal activities and political manipulation, like the kind shown here, to achieve their aims.  Had these actions received proper attention people could have pointed out the falseness of the claims by Nagorno-Karbakh and it's arf backers.  Even more disturbing is that the arf chapter which sponsored this meets in a church, which is a clear violation of american laws

The armenian revolutionary federation is a racial supremacist terror group and it's members, be they zobian or avetisyan usw., deserve to be shot, and non armenians who back them deserve whatever they get.

Iranian Navy in Sri Lanka

Notice the timing and location of this.  Iran also has forces in the Sinai and Daryadar Habibollah Sayyari is currently in Indonesia at a Naval Summit.

Fri Dec 20, 2013 4:14
Iranian Navy’s 28th Flotilla Berth in Colombo Port
TEHRAN (FNA)- The 28th Flotilla of the Iranian Navy which has been dispatched to Southeast Asia berthed at a Sri Lanka port, a senior Navy commander announced.

“The 28th Flotilla of this force comprising Alborz warship, Bandar Abbas warship and semi-heavy Younus submarine as well as a 212 combat helicopter berthed at Colombo port, Sri Lanka, after departing from India’s Mumbai port and travelling thousands of kilometers,” Lieutenant Navy Commander for Operations Siyavash Jarreh said on Friday.

He underlined that Colombo port is an important port in sea transit route towards Far East and the Eastern Asian countries.

Jarreh underlined that the Navy’s 28th Flotilla will be present in Mumbai port for three days, and said, “During this period various programs, including visit of the commanders of the Indian navy to the Iranian flotilla, meetings between both sides and holding different sports competitions between Iranian and Indian navies’ personnel has been predicted.”

He underlined that the purpose for dispatching the 28th flotilla is both maintaining the security of shipping lines and conveying the message of peace and friendship to the regional countries, and said, “This is the first presence of Iran’s semi-heavy Younus submarine in the eastern waters of the Indian Ocean and port of Mumbai in India and Colombo in Sri Lanka.”

Last month, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari announced that the navy’s 28th Flotilla will be dispatched to the Eastern Asia and Far East.

Admiral Sayyari noted that the flotilla will berth in Mumbai with the mission of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries and supervising the security of Iran’s interests.”

In August, the Iranian Navy dispatched its 27th flotilla of warships to the high seas to protect the country's cargo ships and oil tankers against pirates.

Admiral Sayyari said the 27th fleet was dispatched after the return of the 26th fleet of the Iranian Navy, comprised of the Bandar Abbas warship and the Alvand destroyer returned home.

Sayyari also said that the mission of the warships is to provide security for Iranian oil tankers and commercial ships sailing on the open seas.

He added that the 26th Fleet had operated in the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, and the Northern Indian Ocean during its mission on the open seas and visited a number of ports in Oman and Djibouti.

The Iranian Navy has been conducting anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden since November 2008, when Somali raiders hijacked the Iranian-chartered cargo ship, MV Delight, off the coast of Yemen.

According to UN Security Council resolutions, different countries can send their warships to the Gulf of Aden and coastal waters of Somalia against the pirates and even with prior notice to Somali government enter the territorial waters of that country in pursuit of Somali sea pirates.

The Gulf of Aden - which links the Indian Ocean with the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea - is an important energy corridor, particularly because Persian Gulf oil is shipped to the West via the Suez Canal.

Devyani Khobragade incident: Both sides of the story
D P Satish,IBNLive.com
Dec 17, 2013 at 04:13pm IST

New Delhi: A diplomatic war reminiscent of cold war days has broken out between India and the United States of America. It is now threatening the warm relationship developed between two countries over the past 10-15 years. In a strong response to the arrest of a young Indian woman diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York, India is now even refusing to entertain a high level visiting US Congress delegation. In an unprecedented move, India has even asked all US diplomats serving in India to surrender their Identity Cards.

India is describing the arrest as an insult to the country's sovereignty. The strip searching and handcuffing of Devyani added fuel to the fire.

But the US administration is maintaining that the action was necessary due to nature of the crime allegedly committed by Devyani. It says as per the US laws, submitting false papers is a very serious crime and the offender faces up to 15 years behind bars.
Devyani Khobragade incident: Both sides of the story
In a strong response to the arrest of Devyani Kobragade in New York, India has refused to entertain a US Congress delegation.

Background

Devyani Khobragade, a mid-ranking, young diplomat currently posted as Deputy Consul General for Political, Economic, Commercial and Women's Affairs was arrested by the New York police on Thursday. The US authorities accused her of helping the Indian nanny in submitting fake documents to the US State Department saying that she was paying $4,500 per month, when in reality, the nanny or the domestic help got only $573 a month. Devyani had hired the nanny in 2012 and she was working as a babysitter and domestic help at her house in the upscale Manhattan area of New York till last June.

According to New York Times the diplomat is accused of telling the woman to lie on her visa application to get to the United States and say she was going to be paid the higher amount. Then, Khobragade allegedly had the woman sign a second, under-the-radar contract that noted the nanny's monthly salary including overtime - the much smaller amount. The nanny and her husband, who were not named, are serving as witnesses in the case.

Charges

As per the US laws which are extremely hard on human exploitation and human trafficking, Devyani has committed a very serious crime. The Manhattan US Attorney of Indian origin Preet Barara who has ordered the arrest of Devyani terms the charges as very serious. Talking to the media he said, "This type of fraud on the USA and exploitation of an individual will not be tolerated."

According to him she has been charged with one count each of visa fraud and making false statements. Devyani is now out on bail. Her lawyer Daniel Arshack claims that she enjoys diplomatic immunity and she can't be prosecuted under the US law.

US argument

But US authorities are maintaining that she does not enjoy diplomatic immunity and the judiciary is independent like India. It is denying that the proper procedure was not followed the arrest.

"Our Diplomatic Security folks followed our standard procedures, which I'm assuming are standard for diplomats because that's who our Diplomatic Security deals with," a US State Department spokesman said.

According to a US news agency report the US spokesman added that under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the Indian Deputy Consul General enjoys immunity from the jurisdiction of US courts only with respect to acts performed in the exercise of consular functions.

"There are different kinds of immunity. This isn't just in the US; it's all around the world. So in this case, she fell under that specific kind of immunity, and would be liable to arrest pending trial pursuant a felony arrest warrant," says US State department complicating the matters for India.

India's Defence

Devyani's arrest has rattled the Indian Diplomatic Corps. It is forcing the government to hit back at the US. According to Indian diplomats serving in the Western countries, paying lesser than what is actually on official papers is a common practice among the Indian diplomats. They claim that the salary fixed by the US government is too high for the Indian diplomats.

They argue that they can't afford to pay $4500 (approximately Rs 2.80 lakh per month) to a domestic help or a nanny as the salary of most of the diplomats is around Rs 3 lakh per month. Devyani herself is getting not more than Rs 4 lakh per month. They are demanding that the US State department should not apply such illogical rules to Indian diplomats.

A serving diplomat on the condition of anonymity said, "These US laws are stupid. How can a mid-ranking diplomat pay Rs 2.5-3 lakh to her nanny? We don't get paid millions of dollars. Our government must make it clear to the US government or it should pay the salary stipulated by the US."

According to experts, in the US, the judiciary is independent and the government interference is not tolerated. Moreover, Attorney Preet Barara wants to prove that he is more American than the original Americans by taking on Indians accused of committing a crime. They even mention the Rajat Gupta incident.

Legally speaking, as per the US laws Devyani is in a big trouble. India can't do much as it concerns the US laws, which is paramount for the host country. She can escape from the clutches of the US laws, only if the Indian government forces the American government to extend diplomatic immunity to her. Even if she survives, chances of her continuing to work there or going back to the US again look bleak.

The collateral damage of the whole row is Indo-US relations.

Iranian Navy in Mumbai

Notice the timing and location of this visit by Iran's Navy. Mumbai has a large population of Iranian expatriates as well as Zoroastrians, and the british considered exiling Reza Shah there, so one must always remember that the Hindi, like Italians, copy Iran.
Sun Dec 08, 2013 4:29 Commander: Iranian Warships to Leave Mumbai Port Tomorrow TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Navy’s 28th Flotilla of warships will leave India’s Mumbai port for Southeast Asia on Monday, a senior commander announced. “The 28th Flotilla comprising Alborz destroyer, Bandar Abbas helicopter-carrier warship, which is carrying the 212 combat choppers, and the Tareq-class submarine, Younes, will continue its mission towards another important port in Southeast Asia after leaving the Mumbai port,” Deputy Commander of the Iranian Navy for Operations Rear Admiral Siavash Jarreh announced on Sunday. The 28th Fleet of the Iranian Navy berthed in Mumbai on Thursday. On the same day, Jarreh underlined that the Navy’s 28th Flotilla will be present in Mumbai port for three days, and said, “During this period various programs, including visit of the commanders of the Indian navy to the Iranian flotilla, meetings between both sides and holding different sports competitions between Iranian and Indian navies’ personnel has been predicted.” He underlined that the purpose for dispatching the 28th flotilla is both maintaining the security of shipping lines and conveying the message of peace and friendship to the regional countries, and said, “This is the first presence of Iran’s semi-heavy Younus submarine in the eastern waters of the Indian Ocean and port of Mumbai in India.” During its stay in Mumbai port, the flotilla was visited by Commander of India’s West Navy Admiral Shekar Sinha. After the visit, he underlined the need for the deepening of defense cooperation with the Iranian Navy, specially in the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. “The Indian Navy has full readiness to expand relations between the two countries’ navies and exchange of a flotilla to Bandar Abbas port,” Admiral Sinha said in a meeting with Commander of the 28th Flotilla Captain Babak Balouch in Mumbai port on Thursday. He reiterated that the two countries’ navies have a lot of potential for joint cooperation, and said, “We welcome expansion of such collaboration. During its sailing towards India, the 28th flotilla also rescued a Liberian ship heading towards Fujairah port in the UAE by repelling the pirates’ attacks against it. ©2013 Fars News Agency. Close Chinese-american naval encounter

Those who read this need to realize that the USS Cowpens CG-63 is a Ticonderoga class Cruiser, which is based on the Iranian Kurush class Cruiser, which was a joint Iranian-American project which became the Kidd class DDG's, the forerunners of the modern AEGIS warships.  The Kidd class DDG's were sold to Taiwan and now serve as the Keelung class DDG's.  Hence the Chinese could have made the assertion of mistaken identity.  Also it is unclear whether the Chinese ship confronting the USS Cowpens was one of the Type 71/72 class Landing Ships, which are relatively harmless as they are used for troop transport, or if it was a Kunlun Shan class Amphibious Assault Ship, the design of which the Chinese ripped off the American san antonio class.  This also occurred shoertly after the Chinese noticed some supposed design flaws in the new Supercarrier Liaoning.

Chinese Naval Vessel Tries to Force U.S. Warship to Stop in International Waters

A Chinese naval vessel tried to force a U.S. guided missile warship to stop in international waters recently, causing a tense military standoff in the latest case of Chinese maritime harassment, according to defense officials.

The guided missile cruiser USS Cowpens, which recently took part in disaster relief operations in the Philippines, was confronted by Chinese warships in the South China Sea near Beijing’s new aircraft carrier Liaoning, according to officials familiar with the incident.

“On December 5th, while lawfully operating in international waters in the South China Sea, USS Cowpens and a PLA Navy vessel had an encounter that required maneuvering to avoid a collision,” a Navy official said.

“This incident underscores the need to ensure the highest standards of professional seamanship, including communications between vessels, to mitigate the risk of an unintended incident or mishap.”

A State Department official said the U.S. government issued protests to China in both Washington and Beijing in both diplomatic and military channels.

The Cowpens was conducting surveillance of the Liaoning at the time. The carrier had recently sailed from the port of Qingdao on the northern Chinese coast into the South China Sea.

According to the officials, the run-in began after a Chinese navy vessel sent a hailing warning and ordered the Cowpens to stop. The cruiser continued on its course and refused the order because it was operating in international waters.

Then a Chinese tank landing ship sailed in front of the Cowpens and stopped, forcing the Cowpens to abruptly change course in what the officials said was a dangerous maneuver.

According to the officials, the Cowpens was conducting a routine operation done to exercise its freedom of navigation near the Chinese carrier when the incident occurred about a week ago.

The encounter was the type of incident that senior Pentagon officials recently warned could take place as a result of heightened tensions in the region over China’s declaration of an air defense identification zone (ADIZ) in the East China Sea.

Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently called China’s new air defense zone destabilizing and said it increased the risk of a military “miscalculation.”

China’s military forces in recent days have dispatched Su-30 and J-11 fighter jets, as well as KJ-2000 airborne warning and control aircraft, to the zone to monitor the airspace that is used frequently by U.S. and Japanese military surveillance aircraft.

The United States has said it does not recognize China’s ADIZ, as has Japan’s government.

Two U.S. B-52 bombers flew through the air zone last month but were not shadowed by Chinese interceptor jets.

Chinese naval and air forces also have been pressing Japan in the East China Sea over Tokyo’s purchase a year ago of several uninhabited Senkaku Islands located north of Taiwan and south of Okinawa.

China is claiming the islands, which it calls the Diaoyu. They are believed to contain large undersea reserves of natural gas and oil.

The Liaoning, China’s first carrier that was refitted from an old Soviet carrier, and four warships recently conducted their first training maneuvers in the South China Sea. The carrier recently docked at the Chinese naval port of Hainan on the South China Sea.

Defense officials have said China’s imposition of the ADIZ is aimed primarily at curbing surveillance flights in the zone, which China’s military regards as a threat to its military secrets.

The U.S. military conducts surveillance flights with EP-3 aircraft and long-range RQ-4 Global Hawk drones.

In addition to the Liaoning, Chinese warships in the flotilla include two missile destroyers, the Shenyang and the Shijiazhuang, and two missile frigates, the Yantai and the Weifang.

Rick Fisher, a China military affairs expert, said it is likely that the Chinese deliberately staged the incident as part of a strategy of pressuring the United States.

“They can afford to lose an LST [landing ship] as they have about 27 of them, but they are also usually armed with one or more twin 37 millimeter cannons, which at close range could heavily damage a lightly armored U.S. Navy destroyer,” said Fisher, a senior fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center.

Most Chinese Navy large combat ships would be out-ranged by the 127-millimeter guns deployed on U.S. cruisers, except China’s Russian-made Sovremenny-class ships and Beijing’s new Type 052D destroyers that are armed with 130-millimeter guns.

The encounter appears to be part of a pattern of Chinese political signaling that it will not accept the presence of American military power in its East Asian theater of influence, Fisher said.

“China has spent the last 20 years building up its Navy and now feels that it can use it to obtain its political objectives,” he said.

Fisher said that since early 2012 China has gone on the offensive in both the South China and East China Seas.

“In this early stage of using its newly acquired naval power, China is posturing and bullying, but China is also looking for a fight, a battle that will cow the Americans, the Japanese, and the Filipinos,” he said.

To maintain stability in the face of Chinese military assertiveness, Fisher said the United States and Japan should seek an armed peace in the region by heavily fortifying the Senkaku Islands and the rest of the island chain they are part of.

“The U.S. and Japan should also step up their rearmament of the Philippines,” Fisher said.

The Cowpens incident is the most recent example of Chinese naval aggressiveness toward U.S. ships.

The U.S. intelligence-gathering ship, USNS Impeccable, came under Chinese naval harassment from a China Maritime Surveillance ship, part of Beijing’s quasi-military maritime patrol craft, in June.

During that incident, the Chinese ship warned the Navy ship it was operating illegally despite sailing in international waters. The Chinese demanded that the ship first obtain permission before sailing in the area that was more than 100 miles from China’s coast.

The U.S. military has been stepping up surveillance of China’s naval forces, including the growing submarine fleet, as part of the U.S. policy of rebalancing forces to the Pacific.

The Impeccable was harassed in March 2009 by five Chinese ships that followed it and sprayed it with water hoses in an effort to thwart its operations.

A second spy ship, the USNS Victorious, also came under Chinese maritime harassment several years ago.

Adm. Samuel Locklear, when asked last summer about increased Chinese naval activities near Guam and Hawaii in retaliation for U.S. ship-based spying on China, said the dispute involves different interpretations of controlled waters.

Locklear said in a meeting with reporters in July, “We believe the U.S. position is that those activities are less constrained than what the Chinese believe.”

China is seeking to control large areas of international waters—claiming they are part of its United Nations-defined economic exclusion zone—that Locklear said cover “most of the major sea lines of communication” near China and are needed to remain free for trade and shipping.

Locklear, who is known for his conciliatory views toward the Chinese military, sought to play down recent disputes. When asked if the Chinese activities were troubling, he said: “I would say it’s not provocative certainly. I’d say that in the Asia-Pacific, in the areas that are closer to the Chinese homeland, that we have been able to conduct operations around each other in a very professional and increasingly professional manner.”

The Pentagon and U.S. Pacific Command have sought to develop closer ties to the Chinese military as part of the Obama administration’s Asia pivot policies.

However, China’s military has shown limited interest in closer ties.

China’s state-controlled news media regularly report that the United States is seeking to defeat China by encircling the country with enemies while promoting dissidents within who seek the ouster of the communist regime.

The Obama administration has denied it is seeking to “contain” China and has insisted it wants continued close economic and diplomatic relations.

President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to seek a new type of major power relationship during a summit in California earlier this year. However, the exact nature of the new relationship remains unclear.

Honky pig mccain in kiev with pro-EU protesters

This is more proof that, as with yushchenko, the pro-eu protesters in Ukrainya are recieving american backing

I am curious as to why mccain would want Ukrainya to join the EU, but I have a feeling Ukrainya will split 3 ways, with Lviv, Zhitomir, Odessa and west Ukrainya going independent and joining EU, Kiev, Poltava, and East Ukrainya going to Rossiya, and Crimea becoming independent.

Man railroaded by taylor swift in my old neighborhood

Notice the timing of this incident in my old neighborhood.  This happened right after her appearance on the victorias secret show. If the locals were not intent on using her family's property as a tourist draw this incident would not have happened.  Incidentally I know judge quirk as well, and I am suprised to her objection to this man being deported if he is found guilty or pleads nolo, and to his being ordered an evaluation and held without bail.  Hundreds of people, myself included, walk by her place, either on the beach or on the sidewalk, so this man appears to be set up.

Man charged with trespassing on Taylor Swift’s property
Published: December 12, 2013 | Last Modified: December 13, 2013 09:31AM
By A.J. ALGIER Sun Staff Writer

WAKEFIELD — A 23-year-old visitor to the U.S. said he was in Watch Hill for a birthday party when security guards on Taylor Swift’s property stopped him “for no reason” and called Westerly police.

Vladimir Levant appeared Thursday on a trespassing charge in 4th Division District Court before Judge Madeline Quirk who reminded him that his rights included remaining silent and not incriminating himself.

Westerly police say Levant climbed over the sea wall near 16 Bluff Ave., and onto the access road, and according to Swift’s security personnel, eventually was “clearly on the property.” Security personnel said Levant ignored several verbal commands to leave the property. Swift was not home at the time of the incident, police said. Her 24th birthday is today.

As the judge explained the misdemeanor willful trespass charge, Levant alternately said he did not understand the charges and answered questions clearly. English is his third language, Russian is his primary language and Hebrew is his secondary language, he said.

Levant said he had been staying in Brooklyn, N.Y., on vacation since August. He said he planned to leave Nov. 22, but “my father canceled the ticket.” He said he had only $1 in his pocket.

“You swine,” Levant said to sheriffs who he claimed had his handcuffs on too tight. He said he was being treated shamefully and “God is with us.”

Westerly Police Lt. Phil Williams said Levant had a minor criminal history in New York, including a trespassing charge. The disposition on those charges was unavailable.

Levant suggested he be provided with money to get a train back to New York where he would visit the Israeli consulate which might get him a flight out of the country. Judge Quirk reminded him he had to be back in court on Jan. 3 for a pretrial hearing.

The judge initially suggested bail of $1,000 with surety, but asked that Levant meet with a representative of pretrial services to determine if a mental health evaluation would be needed. Later, after again meeting with the judge, it was determined he would be held without bail to undergo a mental health screening.

Hard times for Eric Monte

This is truly sad, as this happens to so many, and many people who are assumed to be street people actually have important backgrounds.
Interestingly enough Alton Powers from one good times, who knew my family in New York, has had similar problems, as I dealt with him while working as an Advocate.

Black-balled Creator of “Good Times” Last Seen Homeless, Fighting off Crack Addiction

The story is seven years old, and we don’t know how it ends.  But we thought that our readers might want to hear about it.  You may or may not know Eric Monte’s name, but you certainly know the names of the shows he’s created.

Monte is responsible for helping to create “Good Times,” “What’s Happening!” and the film “Cooley High,” all of which went on to become iconic in African American television culture.   He was among the most successful screenwriters in all of Hollywood and living on top of the world.

But Monte says that he found others were stealing his ideas and using them as their own.  He accused ABC, CBS, producers Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin of stealing the ideas from his shows and making money at his expense.  He won a small settlement out of the deal and receives occasional royalty checks to this day.

But that was just the beginning.  In Hollywood, it’s easy to be blackballed when you stand up to the powers that be.  Monte’s decision to sue led to him being frozen out of the industry, devoid of nearly all opportunity to create anything further with his extraordinary talent.

Decades later, Monte was living in a homeless shelter in Chicago.  According to a Los Angeles Times article, written in 2006, Monte’s last challenge consisted of an addiction to crack and several strokes.   Drugs  apparently took all the money he had and left him destitute.

Here is some of what the LA Times had to say:

Monte, considered by some — even his friends — to be his own worst enemy, was prickly about script changes and refused to endorse plots he considered degrading to blacks. He wanted more control, but when it came to ownership, he says he was frozen out.

Today, the 62-year-old Chicago native receives occasional residual checks, enough to cover the $300 a month the shelter charges for housing, three meals a day and counseling. Meanwhile, reruns of his shows continue to be broadcast daily on TV Land and other channels worldwide. When one of his episodes airs on the shelter’s wide screen, Monte doesn’t watch.

“I’m not bitter; I’m angry,” he says. “Bitterness is something that stays with you. Anger comes and goes. When I see those old shows, they make me angry.”

According to the article, Monte spends much of his time writing scripts and television show ideas that he is still working to pitch.  It appears that he hasn’t given up just yet. You can read more here.

If you know anything about his whereabouts or what has happened to him since the LA Times article was published, please email us at submissions@yourblackworld.net.  Monte may not be accepted in the circles of Hollywood, but we will always love and honor him for his contributions.

This is important, as it shows the types of people involved in the Nagorno-Karbakh conflict.  Notice the zobians prominently mentioned, as they are known for inciting hatred against Turks/Turanians by misrepresenting the facts of the Armenian massacres during the Ottoman era.  They have also slandered those who speak the truth about the Armenian situation, myself included, and are involved in many illegal activities.  And as usual the corrupt politicos in RI allow this

The series of meetings, visits, and events kicked off on May 17 at the Rhode Island State House, where Armenian Americans gathered to witness the vote on a resolution in support of Artsakh’s independence. The House passed a resolution calling on the U.S. president and Congress to recognize the independence of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic (NKR). The resolution also encouraged the republic’s “continued efforts to develop as a free and independent nation,” and praised Artsakh’s “constructive involvement with the international community and its efforts to reach a lasting solution to the existing regional problems.” (Read the full text here.)
The resolution was voted on the House floor in the presence of Robert Avetisyan, the permanent representative of NKR to the U.S. and Canada. Prior to the vote, Avedisyan visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Providence and laid wreaths in memory of the victims.
After the vote, Avetisyan headed to the Armenian Apostolic Sts. Vartanantz Church hall, where members of the community gathered to meet and greet him. During the reception, Avetisyan delivered comments and answered questions.
State House vote sets example
The vote at the State House set the stage for the further integration of the NKR into the international community. In an interview with Armenian Weekly Editor Khatchig Mouradian, Avetisyan said, “I thank the Rhode Island House for passing this resolution in support of Karabagh’s aspirations for freedom, and hope that the legislature’s commitment to our shared values of human rights and justice will set an example for other legislatures in the U.S. and beyond.”

The resolution was voted on the House floor in the presence of Avetisyan, whom House speaker Gordon Fox (D) warmly welcomed in his introductory remarks. Fox also welcomed a delegation from the local Armenian community accompanying Avetisyan: the chairman of the Armenian Cultural Association of Rhode Island, Hagop Donoyan; the youth advisor to the AYF of Rhode Island, Levon Attarian; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sts. Vartanantz Church, Stephen Elmasian; and a member of the ARF Eastern U.S. Central Committee, Ani Haroian.
RI Congressmen in Washington support NKR
Within a few hours of the R.I. House vote, on Capitol Hill, Congressmen James Langevin (D-R.I.) and Congressman David Cicilline (D-R.I.) made statements on the House floor in support of the people of NKR. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.), in turn, issued statements.
“It is more important than ever that the United States maintain a principled stand for peace in this region, show that democracy can be born from conflict, and support Nagorno-Karabagh,” said Langevin. “It is my sincerest hope that Nagorno-Karabagh’s right to self-determination can be affirmed without further loss of life.”
“Twenty years ago, the people of Nagorno-Karabagh fought and died for their independence from Soviet Azeri repression and discrimination,” said Cicilline. “I join the people of Nagorno-Karabagh today in recognizing the 20th anniversary of their independence and the formation of the Republic’s Army and the liberation of Shushi.”
Meetings
Representative Avetisyan continued his meetings in Rhode Island on May 18, pursuing economic development opportunities for NKR. His visit concluded on May 20 with a community-wide celebration of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi.

Capricious privacy issues in rhode island

Recently two cases were held in the same day in ri superior court which involved privacy that contradicted each other.  The first involved a settlement google had to do in ri and in other states, where google had to remove cookies it placed in people's comupters, to inform people which computers had google cookies in them, to cease using those cookies to gather info on people without their consent, and to pay money in settlement.
Later that day ri art hustler berge zobian mentioned in a case regarding a restraining order that he has hidden cameras in the area where he has his business, needless to say he has no signs up notifying people in the area of his actions, that he collects saliva samples he finds on and around his business in order to obtain dna samples of people, that he obtained uncensored documents from the ri attorney general's office which contained people's medical info, and to top it off has minors working at his business.  This was of no concern to the courts.
This just shows how rotten rhode island's government has become.

Eleitist connections with current Iranian administration

Notice page 14 of this newsletter. http://watson.brown.edu/files/watson/imce/news/newsletters/briefings/WIIS_Briefings2008Fall.pdf I was at the Watson institute when jim blight and janet lang were involved in their Iran project, and both were very secretive, and emphasized that those in power in Iran during the Clinton years, namely those under Khatami, should be returned to power in order to facilitate relations with Iran, and they preferred them specifically.

Text of new Iranian nuke deal

Those Iranians who backed this deal are traitors to america and un, and are setting up Iran for invasion.

Sun Nov 24, 2013 11:18
Full Text of Iran-Powers Nuclear Deal
TEHRAN (FNA)- After the White House released a modified version of the deal struck by Iran and the six world powers in Geneva early Sunday morning, the Iranian Foreign Ministry released the text of the agreement.

The full text of the deal is as follows:

Geneva, 24 November 2013

Joint Plan of Action (   )

Preamble

The goal for these negotiations is to reach a mutually-agreed long-term comprehensive solution that would ensure Iran's nuclear programme will be exclusively peaceful. Iran reaffirms that under no circumstances will Iran ever seek or develop any nuclear weapons. This comprehensive solution would build on these initial measures and result in a final step for a period to be agreed upon and the resolution of concerns. This comprehensive solution would enable Iran to fully enjoy its right to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes under the relevant articles of the NPT in conformity with its obligations therein. This comprehensive solution would involve a mutually defined enrichment programme with practical limits and transparency measures to ensure the peaceful nature of the programme. This comprehensive solution would constitute an integrated whole where nothing is agreed until everything is agreed. This comprehensive solution would involve a reciprocal, step-bystep process, and would produce the comprehensive lifting of all UN Security Council sanctions, as well as multilateral and national sanctions related to Iran's nuclear programme.

There would be additional steps in between the initial measures and the final step, including, among other things, addressing the UN Security Council resolutions, with a view toward bringing to a satisfactory conclusion the UN Security Council's consideration of this matter. The E3+3 and Iran will be responsible for conclusion and implementation of mutual near-term measures and the comprehensive solution in good faith. A Joint Commission of E3/EU+3 and Iran will be established to monitor the implementation of the near-term measures and address issues that may arise, with the IAEA responsible for verification of nuclear-related measures. The Joint Commission will work with the IAEA to facilitate resolution of past and present issues of concern.

Elements of a first step The first step would be time-bound, with a duration of 6 months, and renewable by mutual consent, during which all parties will work to maintain a constructive atmosphere for negotiations in good faith. Iran would undertake the following voluntary measures:

· From the existing uranium enriched to 20%, retain half as working stock of 20% oxide for fabrication of fuel for the TRR. Dilute the remaining 20% UF6 to no more than 5%. No reconversion line.

· Iran announces that it will not enrich uranium over 5% for the duration of the 6 months.

· Iran announces that it will not make any further advances of its activities at the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant1, Fordow2, or the Arak reactor3, designated by the IAEA as IR-40.

· Beginning when the line for conversion of UF6 enriched up to 5% to UO2 is ready, Iran has decided to convert to oxide UF6 newly enriched up to 5% during the 6 month period, as provided in the operational schedule of the conversion plant declared to the IAEA.

· No new locations for the enrichment.

· Iran will continue its safeguarded R&D practices, including its current enrichment R&D practices, which are not designed for accumulation of the enriched uranium.

· No reprocessing or construction of a facility capable of reprocessing.

· Enhanced monitoring:

o Provision of specified information to the IAEA, including information on Iran's plans for nuclear facilities, a description of each building on each nuclear site, a description of the scale of operations for each location engaged in specified nuclear activities, information on uranium mines and mills, and information on source material. This information would be provided within three months of the adoption of these measures.

o Submission of an updated DIQ for the reactor at Arak, designated by the IAEA as the IR-40, to the IAEA.

o Steps to agree with the IAEA on conclusion of the Safeguards Approach for the reactor at Arak, designated by the IAEA as the IR-40.

o Daily IAEA inspector access when inspectors are not present for the purpose of Design Information Verification, Interim Inventory Verification, Physical Inventory Verification, and unannounced inspections, for the purpose of access to offline surveillance records, at Fordow and Natanz.

o IAEA inspector managed access to:

centrifuge assembly workshops4;

centrifuge rotor production workshops and storage facilities; and, uranium mines and mills.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Footnotes:

1 Namely, during the 6 months, Iran will not feed UF6 into the centrifuges installed but not enriching uranium. Not install additional centrifuges. Iran announces that during the first 6 months, it will replace existing centrifuges with centrifuges of the same type.

2 At Fordow, no further enrichment over 5% at 4 cascades now enriching uranium, and not increase enrichment capacity. Not

feed UF6 into the other 12 cascades, which would remain in a non-operative state. No interconnections between cascades.

Iran announces that during the first 6 months, it will replace existing centrifuges with centrifuges of the same type.

3 Iran announces on concerns related to the construction of the reactor at Arak that for 6 months it will not commission the reactor or transfer fuel or heavy water to the reactor site and will not test additional fuel or produce more fuel for the reactor or install remaining components.

4 Consistent with its plans, Iran's centrifuge production during the 6 months will be dedicated to replace damaged machines.

In return, the E3/EU+3 would undertake the following voluntary measures:

· Pause efforts to further reduce Iran's crude oil sales, enabling Iran's current customers to purchase their current average amounts of crude oil. Enable the repatriation of an agreed amount of revenue held abroad. For such oil sales, suspend the EU and U.S. sanctions on associated insurance and transportation services.

· Suspend U.S. and EU sanctions on:

o Iran's petrochemical exports, as well as sanctions on associated services.5 o Gold and precious metals, as well as sanctions on associated services.

· Suspend U.S. sanctions on Iran's auto industry, as well as sanctions on associated services.

· License the supply and installation in Iran of spare parts for safety of flight for Iranian civil aviation and associated services. License safety related inspections and repairs in Iran as well as associated services.6

· No new nuclear-related UN Security Council sanctions.

· No new EU nuclear-related sanctions.

· The U.S. Administration, acting consistent with the respective roles of the President and the

Congress, will refrain from imposing new nuclear-related sanctions.

· Establish a financial channel to facilitate humanitarian trade for Iran's domestic needs using Iranian oil revenues held abroad. Humanitarian trade would be defined as transactions involving food and agricultural products, medicine, medical devices, and medical expenses incurred abroad. This channel would involve specified foreign banks and non-designated Iranian banks to be defined when establishing the channel.

o This channel could also enable:

transactions required to pay Iran's UN obligations; and, direct tuition payments to universities and colleges for Iranian students studying abroad, up to an agreed amount for the six month period.

· Increase the EU authorisation thresholds for transactions for non-sanctioned trade to an agreed amount.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Footnotes

5 "Sanctions on associated services" means any service, such as insurance, transportation, or financial, subject to the underlying U.S. or EU sanctions applicable, insofar as each service is related to the underlying sanction and required to facilitate the desired transactions. These services could involve any non-designated Iranian entities.

6 Sanctions relief could involve any non-designated Iranian airlines as well as Iran Air.

Elements of the final step of a comprehensive solution*

The final step of a comprehensive solution, which the parties aim to conclude negotiating and commence implementing no more than one year after the adoption of this document, would:

· Have a specified long-term duration to be agreed upon.

· Reflect the rights and obligations of parties to the NPT and IAEA Safeguards Agreements.

· Comprehensively lift UN Security Council, multilateral and national nuclear-related sanctions, including steps on access in areas of trade, technology, finance, and energy, on a schedule to be agreed upon.

· Involve a mutually defined enrichment programme with mutually agreed parameters consistent with practical needs, with agreed limits on scope and level of enrichment activities, capacity, where it is carried out, and stocks of enriched uranium, for a period to be agreed upon.

· Fully resolve concerns related to the reactor at Arak, designated by the IAEA as the IR-40.

No reprocessing or construction of a facility capable of reprocessing.

· Fully implement the agreed transparency measures and enhanced monitoring. Ratify and implement the Additional Protocol, consistent with the respective roles of the President and the Majlis (Iranian parliament).

· Include international civil nuclear cooperation, including among others, on acquiring modern light water power and research reactors and associated equipment, and the supply of modern nuclear fuel as well as agreed R&D practices.

Following successful implementation of the final step of the comprehensive solution for its full duration, the Iranian nuclear programme will be treated in the same manner as that of any non-nuclear weapon state party to the NPT.

* With respect to the final step and any steps in between, the standard principle that "nothing is agreed until everything is agreed" applies.

Iranian Jews back Fordo plant

While I appreciate the sentiment, I question whether these Jews could be acting as israeli werewolfs to make further trouble for Iran.

Iranian Jews rally in support of nuclear program

On the eve of new talks, students form a human chain at the gate of the heavily fortified Fordo facility

By APNovember 19, 2013, 10:06 pm26

TEHRAN, Iran — Hundreds of Iranians including university students and members of the country’s Jewish community rallied Tuesday in support of the Islamic Republic’s disputed nuclear program on the eve of the resumption of talks with world powers.

Iranian state TV showed students gathered at the gate of Fordo enrichment facility, carved into a mountain south of Tehran. They formed a human chain, chanted “Fordo is in our hearts” and denounced the West, which has put pressure on Iran to curb enrichment activity which can be a step toward weapons development.

In Tehran, meanwhile, several dozen people identifying themselves as Iranian Jews gathered outside a UN building. It was a rare public display by the community, which tends to keep a low profile despite being the largest in the region outside Israel and Turkey.

Iran’s nuclear program is popular, including among critics of the clerically dominated system, but any major gatherings or demonstrations would need official approval.

Iran has long refused to completely give up uranium enrichment, but the level of enrichment has become a key aspect of ongoing Geneva talks schedule to resume later this week. Halting 20 percent enrichment — a level Iran has acknowledged and which is several steps away from weapons-grade material — is a central goal of the West.

Iran is concerned about a possible Israeli strike against Fordo or similar facilities. Israel has repeatedly criticized a potential deal between Iran and the world powers, saying it will allow Iran to continue suspect activities. It has also not ruled out military option against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The West suspects Iran’s nuclear program has a military dimension. Iran says the program is for peaceful purposes like power generation and cancer treatment.

Exposing Iranian political fraud ahreeman x

Many are familiar with an individual who goes by the name ahreeman x and who runs a website called IranPoliticsClub.  This individual is an american government backed provacetur who has spread lies about many people, myself included.  He claims to use an alias to protect himself and complains that his site has been taken down many times because of anti-mullah political activity.
As to the latter many sites involved in anti-mullah activities are still operational, so the most likely reason for his site being taken down in the past is for slander.  As for using an alias it is in all probability an attempt to cover his tracks.  This person ahreman x claims to teach at the department of computer science at san diego state university
http://iranpoliticsclub.net/photos/AX-university1/index.htm
However when one checks photos of the faculty, as well as the website for san diego state university, there NONE of them match ahreeman x
http://www.cs.sdsu.edu/faculty-and-staff/
In all likelihood this ahreeman x is using manipulated photos to throw people off and to bolster his delusions

Another Iranian gets it wrong on Iran's nuclear program

In reading this soraya makes a big mistake. She ignores the fact that Mohammed Reza Shah helped start Iran's nuclear program, which began at MIT in 1973, as a means of alternate energy as he was aware that Iran would soon be running out of Oil reserves, as it is beginning to do now. To refer to him as an "one of America's pet dictators" along with the omission of this fact shows clear bias.

Man medically violated by pigs

I can guarantee this wouldn't have happened without the new niggercare law in place, people forget that doctors now are as bad as the pigs and are justifying any act of terrorism in america.

New Mexico Man David Eckert Subjected to Anal Cavity Search for Suspicious Posture
Posted on November 6, 2013 by Michael Minkoff
KOB4 reports: When David Eckert was leaving a Deming, New Mexico Wal-Mart parking lot, he rolled through a stop sign and unleashed a humiliating chain of events that almost stupefies belief. Deming police quickly pulled him over, and because a stop sign roll-through is obviously one of the typical earmarks of a danger to society, they asked Eckert to step out of his car. This is where things got crazy. (That is, if you don’t already think it crazy that the police are stopping people for harmless “traffic violations” and regularly forcing them out of their cars for no reason.)

Apparently, when Eckert got out of the car, he was clenching his buttocks. At least, that’s what the crack team of police officers thought. No detail escapes their watchful eyes, right? They thought this small detail suspicious enough that they detained Eckert while they called in for a warrant to do an anal cavity search. They were just sure that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his colon. An idiot Deming judge agreed.

So, warrant in hand, they took Eckert to a local Deming hospital, but doctors there refused to do the cavity search, saying it was “unethical.” But have no fear. A hospital in a neighboring county (where, incidentally, the search warrant was not valid) didn’t have the same qualms about unethical behavior. They weren’t going to let a little thing like ethics get in the way of the war on drugs.

Against Eckert’s constant refusals to authorize any medical procedures, they x-rayed his abdomen, performed two anal searches with their fingers, gave him three enemas—all of which had the intended effect of him defecating in front of doctors and officers, and searched through his (escalatingly scant) stools.

Then, when all of those methods turned up absolutely nothing, the doctors prepared Eckert for surgery and performed a colonoscopy, where they searched the extent of his bowels with a miniature camera. And guess what? Eckert didn’t have any narcotics in him or on him. So police finally let him go well into the wee hours of the next morning after thoroughly humiliating him and violating his anal integrity in pretty much every conceivable medical way. And, by the way, even if the search warrant had been valid in the neighboring county (which it wasn’t), it expired at 10 pm. Medical records indicate they were preparing for the colonoscopy at 1 am. This is no good. To say the least.

I can report thankfully that Eckert is suing the police department and the hospital. And I hope he bankrupts them both. This is just yet another example of police power gone wild. If it weren’t so well-documented or so common, I would hardly believe it happened.

Russian intervention in Caucasus

Notice this is in territory Iran was forced to give up at Gulistan and Turkmanchai, and were it not for the current situation in Iran Russia would not be intervening there.  Notice that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh is also drawing Russian resources away from Syria.  Notice also how Turkey is silent on this issue.

Saudis want German SSK's to old design

I am curious about this, as many countries, including India, Venezuela, and israel are retiring their German Type 209 SSK's.

Saudi Arabia 'plans to buy German submarines'

A German newspaper has reported that Saudi Arabia plans to buy submarines from Germany. The news could intensify discussion on weapons exports during the current coalition negotiations in Berlin.
The German weekly Bild am Sonntag said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia wanted to purchase five German Type 209 submarines for 12 billion euros ($16.5 billion). The paper said that in the long term, the kingdom was interested in buying altogether 25 of the vessels.
The newspaper said it had information that the German chancellery had in the summer already signaled a willingness to examine such requests from Saudi Arabia "favorably" as soon as a new government was in place.
The submarines would be constructed by the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) and the Nordseewerke Emden, both shipbuilding companies located in the north of Germany, according to the report.
Disputed issue
The report could fuel controversy during coalition negotiations between Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative CDU/CSU bloc and the Social Democrats, as weapons exports to crisis regions are a disputed issue between the parties.
The Social Democrats would like to see stricter regulations, while the conservatives consider thepresent rules on exports to be adequate. Currently, the Federal Security Council, made up of the chancellor and eight ministers, has to approve any arms export.
Some lawmakers in Germany see Saudi Arabia as an inappropriate recipient for arms, saying that human rights are not sufficiently respected in the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia also sent tanks and troops to help put down recent protests in Bahrain in 2011.
The paper said a government spokeswoman refused to comment on what she called "possible individual cases of arms exports."
The company ThyssenKrupp, to which the two shipyards belong, said there was "no project involving submarines for Saudi Arabia," but refused to say whether preliminary talks on such an order had been held.

Ray Kelly lecture canceled amidst student, community protest
The event was canceled half an hour in, following heated remarks by audience members
By Jillian Lanney and Carolynn Cong
Senior Staff Writer and Contributing Writer
Wednesday, October 30, 2013

A lecture by New York City Police Department Commissioner Raymond Kelly scheduled for Tuesday afternoon was canceled after protesters halted Kelly’s speech and would not yield the floor.

Controversy preceded the talk —  titled, “Proactive Policing in America’s Biggest City” — due to its speaker’s staunch support for the contentious stop-and-frisk policy. The event was presented by the Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions as part of the Noah Krieger ’93 Memorial Lecture series.

Student protest actions leading up to the event included creating a petition and holding a vigil in honor of victims of racial profiling, The Herald previously reported. After administrators rejected demands laid out in the petition, protest efforts expanded, according to a press release distributed by the event’s protesters.
About 100 students protested outside List Art Center before the lecture.

Around 100 students and community members gathered outside List Art Center about an hour before the lecture was scheduled to start, chanting phrases such as, “Ray Kelly, you can’t hide, we charge you with homicide” and holding signs reading “Stop police brutality,” “Systemic Racism,” “Brown is complicit” and “Ray(cist) Kelly,” among others.

The event took place in a packed List 120, forcing some to watch from an overflow room in List 110.

Marion Orr, director of the Taubman Center, introduced Kelly and acknowledged the protesters’ presence. He said that while “protest is a necessary and acceptable means of demonstration at Brown University,” interrupting the lecture would be inappropriate because it would hinder others’ ability to listen and engage with Kelly.

Protesters reacted vocally to mentions of Kelly and his policies throughout Orr’s introduction. When Kelly himself took the stage, protesters’ boos mixed with applause. As soon as he began to speak, many protesters stood with their fists in the air and began shouting in unison, after which neither Kelly nor Vice President for Campus Life and Student Services Margaret Klawunn and Vice President for Public Affairs and University Relations Marisa Quinn — two administrators present — could regain control of the auditorium.

“People felt very passionately and they wanted to share those stories,” said Esteban Ronancio ’15, who was not present in the auditorium but participated in the broader protest.

Protesters shouted various chants, including, “No justice, no peace, no racist police.” Others shouted that Kelly’s policies have been responsible for suppressing the voices of people of color and that Kelly did not deserve a platform at Brown.

“I have never seen in my 15 years at Brown the inability to have a dialogue,” Quinn said as she attempted to quiet the auditorium and resume.

After about a half-hour of attempts to continue the lecture, administrators decided to cancel the event.

Many individuals involved in the protest said they were pleased with the turnout and the results.

“Our goal was for the lecture to be canceled from the beginning,” said Irene Rojas-Carroll ’15, one of the mobilizers behind the protest. Rojas-Carroll previously told The Herald she felt there was no format in which Kelly would be an appropriate speaker at Brown.

Among the protesters were members of organizations in the greater Providence community, including Direct Action for Right and Equality, a group that seeks social, economic and political justice for people of color.

As the protest filtered into the building, some re-enacted a 2006 demonstration by the now-defunct Coalition for Police Accountability and Institutional Transparency, which had been formed in response to allegations of institutionalized racism and abuse by the Department of Public Safety and the Providence Police Department. Protestors read emotionally charged accounts of racial discrimination by police officers, which were originally shared at the 2006 rally.

After the event, protesters gathered in front of List and gave speeches in celebration and commitment to continuing efforts against racial profiling.

“I think it was very clear that a huge number of students support” the protest, Rojas-Carroll said.

Protesters voiced concerns that the event, and in extension the Taubman Center and the University, had condoned racial profiling.

“Presenting him in this place of honor is not just upsetting, but frustrating and angering,” said Camila Pacheco-Fores ’14, who attended the event in protest.

Many other students expressed frustration that Kelly was denied the opportunity to speak.

“It would have been more effective to take part in a discussion rather than flat out refuse to have him speak,” said Denise Yoon ’17.

At one point during the disruption, Chris Piette ’14 stood up to counter the protesters and was quickly interrupted.

“You’re angry for a good reason,” he said, “but your volume and your inability to listen is quieting my voice.”

Piette later told The Herald that though he identifies as a racial minority and is “no stranger to racial discrimination,” the way to reach progress is not through anger.

The protesters “were too loud and angry to realize their voices were not the only ones that matter,” Piette said.

Jamelle Watson-Daniels ’15 said she has found a lack of acceptance for opposing perspectives at Brown. She arrived at the lecture in protest after hearing about it at a Black Student Union meeting but said she felt the protest’s organizers had misrepresented the event to make the Taubman Center seem completely unresponsive to student concerns about the “racial implications” of Kelly’s policies.

She said she was surprised to learn the lecture would have a question-and-answer portion that would allow students to engage with Kelly.

“Open-mindedness runs both ways. You have to be able to hear both sides of the coin. It’s disappointing if we can’t, and then we can’t have a dialogue,” said Torin Collier-Mark ’17.

Orr said the Taubman Center had made efforts to respond to student concerns about lack of dialogue by creating an expanded time period for audience members to ask the commissioner questions. Kelly was slated to speak for around 20 to 25 minutes and spend the rest of his time responding to questions.

“I think it’s a crying shame that people didn’t get to hear Raymond Kelly respond to his critics,” said Ross Cheit, a professor of political science and public policy at the Taubman Center.

Various University officials and administrators expressed surprise and disappointment with the lecture’s cancellation.

“I don’t recall in my years here a time when a lecture was stopped based on the crowd disrupting the speaker,” said Mark Porter, chief of police for DPS.

Deputy Chief of Police for DPS Paul Shanley added that though DPS was there to make sure the protest did not get out of control, the shutdown was not for fear of a public safety risk. DPS does not “take sides,” he said.

“The conduct of disruptive members of the audience is indefensible and an affront both to civil democratic society and to the University’s core values of dialogue and the free exchange of views,” President Christina Paxson wrote in a statement.

In an email to the community, Paxson wrote that she has asked Klawunn to organize a forum to “discuss our values and expectations as a community.” Paxson also wrote that she would reach out to Kelly “to convey (her) deepest regret for the manner in which he was treated.”

Klawunn said the University does not plan to pursue disciplinary action against the students who disrupted the lecture.

Following the cancelation, Quinn said the University might have to review its policy of allowing all members of the community, as opposed to only individuals with Brown IDs, into the event.

Orr said it is unclear at this time what, if any, impact this event will have on future lectures at Brown.

Latest cockup by Iranian government official

The latest example of stupidity by someone in Iran's government.
The Iranian cultural attache in Yerevan forgets that Armenia was balkanized from Iran during selucid era, reclaimed by Sassanians, namely Shabour II, lost again during muslim invasion, reclaimed by Uzun Hasan, then forcibly taken from Iran at turkmanchai in 1828. Farsi and Armenian are so similar the only real difference is the alphabets. The author of this even forgets that Armenians in Armenia and other golestan/turkmanchai lands are entitled to benefits of Iranian citizenship, and can run for office in Iran, even president.

Iran, Armenia Publish Book on Shared Proverbs

October 18, 2013 - 15:42
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s cultural attaché office in Armenia published a book entitled “Iranian-Armenian Shared Proverbs”, a move indicating deep cultural commonalities between the two neighboring countries.

The cultural attaché office of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Armenian capital of Yerevan has published a book that encompasses a variety of proverbs found both in Persian and Armenian languages.
The book “Iranian-Armenian Shared Proverbs” has 441 Persian-Armenian proverbs.
The recently-published book is mainly to fulfill the need s of researchers, and will also be available to academic centers both in Iran and Armenia which are dealing with Iran studies.
Tehran and Yerevan enjoy a long-lasting friendship in various fields, including political and cultural affairs.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, just one day after taking the office in August, announced that Tehran will focus efforts on strengthening relations with Armenia.
“Tehran’s effort will be focused on enhancement of relations (with Armenia) and raising the level of cooperation in all fields,” Rouhani said in a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsian, here in Tehran on August 5.
He also pointed to cultural commonalities between the two neighboring countries, and said, “Relations between Iran and Armenia have been always friendly, close and on the basis of fulfillment of mutual interests.”

New Iranian warships being built

This story is inaccurate, as the Sahand is already launched, as the link below clearly shows https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=648530961826003&set=a.648529195159513.1073741825.169376436408127&type=3&theater Also with the situation in Syria, arms buildups in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, this slow delelopment is disturbing.
Sun Sep 29, 2013 4:43 Navy Commander: Iran to Build Training Warship TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran plans to build a training warship named 'Khalij-e Fars (Persian Gulf)' in the near future, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari announced on Sunday, adding that the country's destroyer named 'Sahand' will also be launched next year. "God willing, construction of Khalij-e Fars (training) warship will start this year," Sayyari told FNA. "Once this warship is built, the Islamic Republic will be the only regional country which has this type of vessel," he added. Elsewhere, Sayyari also announced that the country's Sahand destroyer will be launched in the next Iranian year (to start on March 21). Tehran launched an arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and fighter planes. Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country's military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country. Iran in June launched its overhauled and modernized destroyer named Bayandor in the Southern waters of the country in the presence of Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi and Rear Admiral Sayyari. Army officials said the Iranian Navy's power of safeguarding the country's territorial waters as well as maintaining security in regional and international waters will increase after the launch of Bayandor. Overhauling the main engines, heat exchangers and fuel and oil systems as well as optimizing the monitoring control systems are among the measures adopted before launching the destroyer. Navy experts have also mounted a fire control system for the destroyer's weapons, a 76-mm and a 40-mm canons and a surface-to-surface Nour (Light) missile system on the destroyer. In May, Sayyari had declared that Iran can use the destroyer to carry out missions in international waters in the future. He said the destroyer is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment such as missile, torpedo, artillery, sonar and other information and communication systems. In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems. Iran's first home-made destroyer, Jamaran, was launched in late February 2010. The Mowdge Class vessel has a displacement of around 14,000 tons and is equipped with modern radars and electronic warfare capabilities and is armed with a variety of anti-ship, surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles. Iranian defense ministry officials had said earlier that the third generation of the home-made vessel, Jamaran-3 destroyer, will come into operation by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2013 - March 20, 2014).

Major watson weirdness update

I learned of these events while returning from the un, and their timing and speakers got my attention.
The shatterzone event, which took place the day of the protest I called at the un, got my attention for it's timing as well as it's speaker and topic
http://watson.brown.edu/events/2013/omer-bartov-shatterzone-empires-coexistence-and-violence-german-habsburg-russian-and
The speaker is an excellent example of everything that is wrong with jews.  Since the mid 1990's bartov had been hanging out at the same places I would on providence's east side, including sitting next to me at the computers at the Rochambeau library.  He is one of the individuals responsible for spreading the rumor that I ama  self-hating polish jew, and he copies me in using the term "Habsburg Empire" to describe the Ausro-Hungarian Empire and other lands the Habsburgs ruled.  Essentially bartov's research had taken him into parts of the World where my family had lived, and where vital documents were either destroyed or vandalized, and he never achieved any prominence at watson/brown while I was there only after I left, which is one reason I have to take precautions when presenting any vital info on myself and my family.
Interestingly enough bartov appeared on a panel talk with hanan ashrawi
http://watson.brown.edu/events/2013/after-oslo-critical-conversations-palestineisrael
As I learned in April 2006 when dealing with her ashrawi, like other speakers, are elitist pawns who care neither about Palestine or israel, only what their backers want.  Interestingly enough ashrawi gave a talk before at brown
http://watson.brown.edu/events/2013/hanan-ashrawi-oslo-process-versus-peace
Notice this event, like the others here and in contradiction to similar past events, was NOT open to the public.  Clearly ashrawi's elitist controllers at shit u do not want people to know she is screwing the Palestinians over, as watson/brown have repeatedly made trouble for the Palestinians and those who deal with them, and ashrawi never addresses this.
Almost coincidentally my digicam went on the fritz as I was about to go out and photo/video the UFO's/strange weather that occur over the watson institute on the final friday of every September.  Just the latest in the series of strangeness that occurs on that date every year and which has been occurring which I have documented since 2006.

Example of why Iranian/american reconciliation is not working

As long as propagandists like kinzer continue to butt into Iranian affairs there can be no reconciliation between Iran and ameirca.
http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/9/25/iran-rouhani-obamaarabspring.html
Notice by his words kinzer doesn't know what he is talking about.

New appointment for shamkhani

While I am grateful to Shamkhani for making me honorary Sipah Salar in
2005, I question his appointment by rowhani as secretary of the Supreme
National Security Council. Clearly rowhani is up to something.

Tue Sep 10, 2013 2:15
Rouhani Appoints Rear Admiral Shamkhani as SNSC Secretary
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani appointed former Defense
Minister Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani as the Secretary of Iran's Supreme
National Security Council (SNSC).

Shamkhani first served as the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards
Corps (IRGC) Navy. Later he commanded the Iranian Army's naval force in
addition to the IRGC Navy.

He then became Iran's defense minister from August 1997 to August 2005
in the government of President Mohammad Khatami. When Ahmadinejad
ascended to power in 2005 Shamkhani was replaced with Mostafa Mohammad
Najjar in the post. In the 2001 presidential election, Shamkhani ran for
office.

He is the director of the Iranian Armed Forces' Center for Strategic
Studies and a military advisor to Supreme Leader of the Islamic
Revolution Ayatollah Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Shamkhani will replace Saeed Jalili who served as SNSC Secretary during
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's tenure and represented Iran in nuclear
talks with the world powers. The SNSC is, of course, not anymore in
charge of the talks after President Rouhani in a decree last week
shifted the leading role in the talks with the Group 5+1 (the five
permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) to the Foreign
Ministry.

Yet, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told FNA on
Thursday that coordination for the Iran-powers talks will still be done
by the SNSC, although the negotiations will be carried out by the
foreign ministry.

The rot that is the zobians and RI's armenians

Recently I have been on the receiving end of legal harassment and slander from berge zobian and his associates.  The main problem they have been causing is their false claim that I am prejudiced against Armenians, and that I have hurt their business.  The truth is that the problems started in April 2010 when berge invited me to an Armenian genocide event, under the pretext of trying to get me and leslie yeransian to reconcile.  However berge used his son levon to pick a fight with me, and I ended up beating up berge, levon, and 4 o their associates before the police broke up the fight.  No charges were pressed against me as the police knew that berge and levon were prejudiced against me as my father’s maternal grandfather served on the Ottoman army and his service included participation in the Armenian massacres, and that had they not invited me I never would have beat them up.  Their bad behavior continued as they used their association with leslie yeransian and her family to stalk me, including raising money for businesses which I had dealt with and slandering me to those businesses.  Additionally, levon used his position with the Armenian youth federation to slander me in Watertown, not realizing I have family, including Armenian relatives on my paternal grandfather’s side, who live in the area.
Despite their claims of being successful businessmen levon is seeking employment, while berge’s work with photography involves image manipulation.  His art gallery business has been unable to expand outside of providence, as his Newport location went under as many Artists, dealers, and collectors felt uncomfortable with berge’s shakedown tactics, as have many who have been to berge’s gallery z in providence, leaving berge to wallow in providence with the rest of the artistic poseurs.  Interestingly enough he claims to be from New York, yet he makes no open business or other associations there, probably aware that he is not welcome down there with the way he rolls, nor has he shown proof where he is from originally, content to spew lies and half-truths about himself and others, and complains everytime someone calls him out.
He is just another example of how the Armenians of RI are little more than headlice, ie those who give Armenians a bad name.  Let’s take a look at some prominent Armenians in RI.  In the RI judiciary we have the hag bedrosian, appointed as chief of the state’s family court, someone who enjoy’s sentencing people to excessive jail time and fines, who replaces her predecessor fatso jeremiah, who not only did the same but did so to get kickbacks from the people who run facilities where kids are imprisoned and housed just so they could receive money to keep them in business, which was one major reason that RI dcyf was overburdened with cases.  Additionally judge jeremiah was in trouble for double dipping in pensions and has had to move because of threats from families ruined because of him.
Also politically prominent is snotty avedisian, who has invited businesses into Warwick during his tenure as mayor, yet these businesses have done next to nothing to increase employment, and warwick’s population has declined as a result.  Not to mention he has done nothing to improve RIPTA since becoming a board member.  This is mild compared to fellow area businessman and politico aram garabedian.  This crook has hired ex convicts to work at his businesses then when something happens automatically blames them whether it was their fault or not.  One reason the warwick mall, which he owns, was seriously damaged by flooding was the result of disgruntled employees who allowed the mall to get flooded as revenge for their comrades who were wrongly convicted because of garabedian.  Such behavior has helped to prevent a revival of his political career which went downhill after his loss to steve laffey in the 2002 Cranston mayoral election, and it must be said that garabedian had a good reputation as a people’s advocate before his 2002 loss.
Speaking of dirty Armenian businesses look no further than alex and ani, which hawks their third rate jewelry to people through aggressive advertising and cash pissing at public events.  Interestingly enough their headquarters is located in Cranston directly under where puke yeransian located his company firstcomp’s RI office from it’s Jefferson blvd location.  This is the same puke yeransian who is no longer welcome at regency plaza apartments for inciting passersby with inflammatory slurs, and who got his sister leslie a job at rising medical solutions, where she has used her position to stalk people via their medical records, as I can personally attest to.
Overall, these Armenians in RI represent the very worst of their kind.
