Mubarak hands power over to Army

This is suprising, not only as Mubarak had vowed to hold on to power, but that the Army was able to do this without killing him. Notice also that Mubarak is not fleeing Egypt, but is staying in the South Sinai. What is not being asked is who persuaded the Army to do this, and of the reprecussions this will have on the region. Even stranger is the role al-jazeera has played in inciting these riots, instead of acting impartial they have played into the hands of the cfr controllers, as the editorial below by mark levine discussing a new world order demonstrates. Notice also the date this occured, exactly 32 years after the cia/mi6 guadeloupe backed khomeini seized control in Iran. This is NOT a popular uprising removing a dictator, this is history repeating itself as western factions incite the masses to remove someone they percieve as a threat.

Pro-democracy protesters in Tahrir Square have vowed to take the
protests to a 'last and final stage' [AFP]

Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian president, has resigned from his post,
handing over power to the armed forces.

Omar Suleiman, the vice-president, announced in a televised address that
the president was "waiving" his office, and had handed over authority to
the Supreme Council of the armed forces.

Suleiman's short statement was received with a roar of approval and by
celebratory chanting and flag-waving from a crowd of hundreds of
thousands in Cairo's Tahrir Square, as well by pro-democracy campaigners
who attended protests across the country on Friday.

The crowd in Tahrir chanted "We have brought down the regime", while
many were seen crying, cheering and embracing one another.

Mohamed ElBaradei, an opposition leader, hailed the moment as being the
"greatest day of my life", in comments to the Associated Press news
agency.

"The country has been liberated after decades of repression,'' he said.

"Tonight, after all of these weeks of frustration, of violence, of
intimidation ... today the people of Egypt undoubtedly [feel they] have
been heard, not only by the president, but by people all around the
world," our correspondent at Tahrir Square reported, following the
announcement.

"The sense of euphoria is simply indescribable," our correspondent at
Mubarak's Heliopolis presidential palace, where at least ten thousand
pro-democracy activists had gathered, said.

Pro-democracy activists in the Egyptian capital had marched on the
presidential palace and state television buildings on Friday, the 18th
consecutive day of protests.

Anger at state television

At the state television building earlier in the day, thousands had
blocked people from entering or leaving, accusing the broadcaster of
supporting the current government and of not truthfully reporting on the
protests.

"The military has stood aside and people are flooding through [a gap
where barbed wire has been moved aside]," Al Jazeera's correspondent at
the state television building reported.

He said that "a lot of anger [was] generated" after Mubarak's speech
last night, where he repeated his vow to complete his term as president.

'Gaining momentum'

Outside the palace in Heliopolis, where at least ten thousand protesters
had gathered in Cairo, another Al Jazeera correspondent reported that
there was a strong military presence, but that there was "no indication
that the military want[ed] to crack down on protesters".

She said that army officers had engaged in dialogue with protesters, and
that remarks had been largely "friendly".

Tanks and military personnel had been deployed to bolster barricades
around the palace.

Our correspondent said the crowd in Heliopolis was "gaining momentum by
the moment", and that the crowd had gone into a frenzy when two
helicopters were seen in the air around the palace grounds.

"By all accounts this is a highly civilised gathering. people are
separated from the palace by merely a barbed wire ... but nobody has
even attempted to cross that wire," she said.

As crowds grew outside the palace, Mubarak left Cairo on Friday for the
Red Sea resort of Sharm al-Shaikh, according to sources who spoke to Al
Jazeera.

In Tahrir Square, hundreds of thousands of protesters gathered, chanting
slogans against Mubarak and calling for the military to join them in
their demands.

Our correspondent at the square said the "masses" of pro-democracy
campaigners there appeared to have "clear resolution" and "bigger
resolve" to achieve their goals than ever before.

However, he also said that protesters were "confused by mixed messages"
coming from the army, which has at times told them that their demands
will be met, yet in communiques and other statements supported Mubarak's
staying in power until at least September.

Army statement

In a statement read out on state television at midday on Friday, the
military announced that it would lift a 30-year-old emergency law but
only "as soon as the current circumstances end".

The military said it would also guarantee changes to the constitution as
well as a free and fair election, and it called for normal business
activity to resume.

Al Jazeera's correspondent in Tahrir Square said people there were
hugely disappointed with that army statement, and had vowed to take the
protests to "a last and final stage".

"They're frustrated, they're angry, and they say protests need to go
beyond Liberation [Tahrir] Square, to the doorstep of political
institutions," she said.

Protest organisers have called for 20 million people to come out on
"Farewell Friday" in a final attempt to force Mubarak to step down.

Alexandria protests

Hossam El Hamalawy, a pro-democracy organiser and member of the
Socialist Studies Centre, said protesters were heading towards the
presidential palace from multiple directions, calling on the army to
side with them and remove Mubarak.

"People are extremely angry after yesterday's speech," he told Al
Jazeera. "Anything can happen at the moment. There is self-restraint all
over but at the same time I honestly can't tell you what the next step
will be ... At this time, we don't trust them [the army commanders] at
all."

An Al Jazeera reporter overlooking Tahrir said the side streets leading
into the square were filling up with crowds.

"It's an incredible scene. From what I can judge, there are more people
here today than yesterday night," she said.


Hundreds of thousands of protesters havehered

"The military has not gone into the square except some top commanders,
one asking people to go home ... I don't see any kind of tensions
between the people and the army but all of this might change very soon
if the army is seen as not being on the side of the people."

Hundreds of thousands were participating in Friday prayers outside a
mosque in downtown Alexandria, Egypt's second biggest city.

Thousands of pro-democracy campaigners also gathered outside a
presidential palace in Alexandria.

Egyptian television reported that large angry crowds were heading from
Giza, adjacent to Cairo, towards Tahrir Square and some would march on
the presidential palace.

Protests are also being held in the cities of Mansoura, Mahala, Tanta,
Ismailia, and Suez, with thousands in attendance.

Violence was reported in the north Sinai town of el-Arish, where
protesters attempted to storm a police station. At least one person was
killed, and 20 wounded in that attack, our correspondent said.

Dismay at earlier statement

In a televised address to the nation on Thursday, Mubarak said he was
handing "the functions of the president" to Vice-President Omar
Suleiman. But the move means he retains his title of president.

Halfway through his much-awaited speech late at night, anticipation
turned into anger among protesters camped in Tahrir Square who began
taking off their shoes and waving them in the air.

Immediately after Mubarak's speech, Suleiman called on the protesters to
"go home" and asked Egyptians to "unite and look to the future."

Union workers have joined the protests over the past few days,
effectively crippling transportation and several industries, and dealing
a sharper blow to Mubarak’s embattled regime.

The shaping of a New World Order

I remember the images well, even though I was too young to understand
their political significance. But they were visceral, those photos in
the New York Times from Tehran in the midst of its revolutionary moment
in late 1978 and early 1979. Not merely exuberance jumped from the page,
but also anger; anger fuelled by an intensity of religious fervour that
seemed so alien as to emanate from another planet to a "normal" pre-teen
American boy being shown the newspaper by his father over breakfast.

Many commentators are comparing Egypt to Iran of 32 years ago, mostly to
warn of the risks of the country descending into some sort of Islamist
dictatorship that would tear up the peace treaty with Israel, engage in
anti-American policies, and deprive women and minorities of their rights
(as if they had so many rights under the Mubarak dictatorship).

I write this on February 2, the precise anniversary of Khomeini's return
to Tehran from exile. It's clear that, while religion is a crucial
foundation of Egyptian identity and Mubarak's level of corruption and
brutality could give the Shah a run for his money, the situations are
radically different on the ground.

A most modern and insane revolt

The following description, I believe, sums up what Egypt faces today as
well as, if not better, than most:

"It is not a revolution, not in the literal sense of the term, not a way
of standing up and straightening things out. It is the insurrection of
men with bare hands who want to lift the fearful weight, the weight of
the entire world order that bears down on each of us - but more
specifically on them, these ... workers and peasants at the frontiers of
empires. It is perhaps the first great insurrection against global
systems, the form of revolt that is the most modern and the most insane.

One can understand the difficulties facing the politicians. They outline
solutions, which are easier to find than people say ... All of them are
based on the elimination of the [president]. What is it that the people
want? Do they really want nothing more? Everybody is quite aware that
they want something completely different. This is why the politicians
hesitate to offer them simply that, which is why the situation is at an
impasse. Indeed, what place can be given, within the calculations of
politics, to such a movement, to a movement through which blows the
breath of a religion that speaks less of the hereafter than of the
transfiguration of this world?"

The thing is, it was offered not by some astute commentator of the
current moment, but rather by the legendary French philosopher Michel
Foucault, after his return from Iran, where he witnessed firsthand the
intensity of the revolution which, in late 1978, before Khomeini's
return, really did seem to herald the dawn of a new era.

Foucault was roundly criticised by many people after Khomeini hijacked
the revolution for not seeing the writing on the wall. But the reality
was that, in those heady days where the shackles of oppression were
literally being shattered, the writing was not on the wall. Foucault
understood that it was precisely a form of "insanity" that was necessary
to risk everything for freedom, not just against one's government, but
against the global system that has nuzzled him in its bosom for so long.

What was clear, however, was that the powers that most supported the
Shah, including the US, dawdled on throwing their support behind the
masses who were toppling him. While this is by no means the principal
reason for Khomeini's successful hijacking of the revolution, it
certainly played an important role in the rise of a militantly
anti-American government social force, with disastrous results.

While Obama's rhetoric moved more quickly towards the Egyptian people
than did President Carter's towards Iranians three decades ago, his
refusal to call for Mubarak's immediate resignation raises suspicion
that, in the end, the US would be satisfied if Mubarak was able to ride
out the protests and engineer a "democratic" transition that left
American interests largely intact.

The breath of religion

Foucault was also right to assign such a powerful role to religion in
the burgeoning revolutionary moment - and he experienced what he called
a "political spirituality", But, of course, religion can be defined in
so many ways. The protestant theologian Paul Tillich wonderfully
described it as encompassing whatever was of "ultimate concern" to a
person or people. And today, clearly, most every Egyptian has gotten
religion from this perspective.

So many people, including Egypt's leaders, have used the threat of a
Muslim Brotherhood takeover to justify continued dictatorship, with Iran
as the historical example to justify such arguments. But the comparison
is plagued by historical differences. The Brotherhood has no leader of
Khomeini's stature and foreswore violence decades ago. Nor is there a
culture of violent martyrdom ready to be actualised by legions of young
men, as occurred with the Islamic Revolution. Rather than trying to take
over the movement, which clearly would never have been accepted - even
if its leaders wanted to seize the moment, the Brotherhood is very much
playing catch up with the evolving situation and has so far worked
within the rather ad hoc leadership of the protests.

But it is equally clear that religion is a crucial component of the
unfolding dynamic. Indeed, perhaps the iconic photo of the revolution is
one of throngs of people in Tahrir Square bowed in prayers, literally
surrounding a group of tanks sent there to assert the government's
authority.

This is a radically different image of Islam than most people - in the
Muslim world as much as in the West - are used to seeing: Islam taking
on state violence through militant peaceful protest; peaceful jihad
(although it is one that has occurred innumerable times around the
Muslim world, just at a smaller scale and without the world's press
there to capture it).

Such imagery, and its significance, is a natural extension of the
symbolism of Mohamed Bouazizi's self-immolation, an act of jihad that
profoundly challenges the extroverted violence of the jihadis and
militants who for decades, and especially since 9/11, have dominated the
public perception of Islam as a form of political spirituality.

Needless to say, the latest images - of civil war inside Tahrir Square -
will immediately displace these other images. Moreover, if the violence
continues and some Egyptian protesters lose their discipline and start
engaging in their own premeditated violence against the regime and its
many tentacles, there is little doubt their doing so will be offered as
"proof" that the protests are both violent and organised by the Muslim
Brotherhood or other "Islamists".

A greater threat than al-Qa'eda

As this dynamic of nonviolent resistance against entrenched regime
violence plays out, it is worth noting that so far, Osama bin Laden and
his Egyptian deputy, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, have had little - if anything -
of substance to say about the revolution in Egypt. What they've failed
to ignite with an ideology of a return to a mythical and pure beginning
- and a strategy of human bombs, IEDs, and planes turned into missiles -
a disciplined, forward-thinking yet amorphous group of young activists
and their more experienced comrades, "secular" and "religious" together
(to the extent these terms are even relevant anymore), have succeeded in
setting a fire with a universal discourse of freedom, democracy and
human values - and a strategy of increasingly calibrated chaos aimed at
uprooting one of the world's longest serving dictators.

As one chant in Egypt put it succinctly, playing on the longstanding
chants of Islamists that "Islam is the solution", with protesters
shouting: "Tunisia is the solution."

For those who don't understand why President Obama and his European
allies are having such a hard time siding with Egypt's forces of
democracy, the reason is that the amalgam of social and political forces
behind the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt today - and who knows where
tomorrow - actually constitute a far greater threat to the "global
system" al-Qa'eda has pledged to destroy than the jihadis roaming the
badlands of Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Yemen.

Mad as hell

Whether Islamist or secularist, any government of "of the people" will
turn against the neoliberal economic policies that have enriched
regional elites while forcing half or more of the population to live
below the $2 per day poverty line. They will refuse to follow the US or
Europe's lead in the war on terror if it means the continued large scale
presence of foreign troops on the region's soil. They will no longer
turn a blind eye, or even support, Israel's occupation and siege across
the Occupied Palestinian territories. They will most likely shirk from
spending a huge percentage of their national income on bloated
militaries and weapons systems that serve to enrich western defence
companies and prop up autocratic governments, rather than bringing
stability and peace to their countries - and the region as a whole.

They will seek, as China, India and other emerging powers have done, to
move the centre of global economic gravity towards their region, whose
educated and cheap work forces will further challenge the more expensive
but equally stressed workforces of Europe and the United States.

In short, if the revolutions of 2011 succeed, they will force the
creation of a very different regional and world system than the one that
has dominated the global political economy for decades, especially since
the fall of communism.

This system could bring the peace and relative equality that has so long
been missing globally - but it will do so in good measure by further
eroding the position of the United States and other "developed" or
"mature" economies. If Obama, Sarkozy, Merkel and their colleagues don't
figure out a way to live with this scenario, while supporting the
political and human rights of the peoples of the Middle East and North
Africa, they will wind up with an adversary far more cunning and
powerful than al-Qa'eda could ever hope to be: more than 300 million
newly empowered Arabs who are mad as hell and are not going to take it
any more.

Bamiyan

Something I found going through my archives and which I am posting here for others to read.


When Karabalgasun fell, it fell from its splendor as a gem of the
steppes, from its fame as the easternmost great center of the faith of
Mani, the Illuminator.
It is said that tens of thousands of dark, torch wielding horsemen
descended from north of the Orhon Valley, hailing down from the
monstrous hills surrounding the city before the dark of the night.
Flaming arrows were discharged, raining on palaces, temples and
pagodas like angels of death. The city soon found itself in hell,
perishing on a pit of fire and brimstone.
There was this Uighur prince, Tughlug Arslan Beg, who narrowly
escaped this Kyrgyz onslaught, which would bring the glory of the
Uighur empire to an abrupt end, after which Civilization would not
visit the valley of Karabalgasun for another 500 years. Tired and
dejected, Tughlug rode aimlessly, with a few of his vassals, toward
where the sun sets, where there still were followers of Mani, the
Illuminator.
"Beg, His Valiant Nobleness Arslan Beg, may your thirst of
spirit be quenched by the Light; May this Gobi desert be your ornate
rug; May the Eternal Sky be your yurt…" Rowshan, the jester, beat his
tambourine and started singing, hoping the cheer up his master.
"Rowshan, what's all that--- wouldn't a real yurt be more
helpful at this moment? When will we reach Samarkand?"
"Uh… Beg… Yes my Beg, another 13 days my Beg." --- All fell
silent as they marched on, observing a distant sandstorm ravaging the
ruinous ancient kingdoms of the Tarim Basin.
They finally reached Samarkand, only to find it overrun by
Tajik cavalrymen, who conducted raids of the Buddhist princedom and
garrisoned here, preparing for the investiture of their command of the
region by a certain Tahir ibn Hussein, the beloved of Allah and the
favorite of Caliph Harun al Rashid. There was not a decent Manichaeist
church to be found, all looted and carried to Tahir's fortress in
Balkh.
Tughlug clenched his teeth--- his face turned red with zeal---
and called upon his servants: "We will march southwest towards
Babylon, where the Prophet received the Angels of the Light. It is
there that I can find my peace of mind."
A few days on their southwestward journey, they arrived at a
site, a ghost town. They did not hesitate approaching this town, not
without awe and marvel, because--- presiding over the decayed adobes
and broken columns, were two giant statute of the prophet Buddha,
which, although weather beaten, still told of the heydays of a great
empire whose memories were otherwise long buried in the remote
history.
Stopping in front of the cavernous cliff where the Buddhas
were carved out, beholding this wonder of immortal hands, prince
Tughlug forgot about his grief and erupted into a hysterical joy,
covering his ears with both hands, screaming like a frenzied child,
his echo madly bouncing on the rocky walls in the surroundings over
and over again as if incarnating into ceaseless forms of existence
until it finally died down.
An old tattered man appeared in front of the crazed prince---
a dervish? No, a monk? No, a Brahmin, priest? A holy man. He seemed to
have just woken up from a long slumber, wearisome and cynical.
"Say, old man, what province on this great wide world are you
from?" Asked prince Tughlug.
"Young man, I am from Ard-allah, the Earth of God."
Tughlug startled a bit and Rowshan protested: "Over here is
Prince Tughlug Arslan Beg of Karabalgasun, Land of the Uighurs, the
Brave, Noble and Enlightened…"
Tughlug stopped Rowshan, looked up and surveyed around, and
rested his eyes on the old man: " Well then, Elder of Ard-allah… Do
you know… I am quite struck by the immensity of these… images of our
prophet Buddha. Who built it? When?"
"Yes my lord. These are in fact the monuments of the reigns of
Kushanshah Kanishka of old. His empire perished 500 years ago… They
said it wasn't men who destroyed this empire, for such a great empire
cannot be put down by human hands."
Tughlug felt a faintness seizing him, almost bringing him
aground from the saddle, and then he felt moistness blurring his eyes,
and wept. He said: " Old man, if you permit. My nation too, was such
that no mortal could destroy. On the night of its fall, I've seen the
Angels of Death. Now I am without home. Not even the faithful of Mani
are spared the mercy of God--- I just passed through Samarkand, that
city of Light. I saw wanton pillage and the rampage of believers of
the Arab religion. Come, Rowshan, come. Let's pray to Mani, for our
strength and deliverance."
The cynical old man interrupted: " Who is it that you are
praying to?"
"Pardon me?"
" Are you sure you are not praying to a dead man, for a dead
nation?"
Rowshan literally jumped up and, with rage, dragged the frail
old man to ground. He yelled hysterically to the offender: " You will
learn a lesson today, old… old beggar: do not insult a Uighur… do not
insult a Uighur before his Prince the Righteous, Pious and…" Tughlug's
face was also red with intensity.
The old man regained his balance, sat up on the dusty ground
and spoke with a panting voice: " Pri… Prince, a man is the most
powerful when he is without possession, most high when he is without
title. He will only see the true Light without prophets in between."
Tughlug burst in anger: " Lie! Pitiful lie! Mani is the
illuminator illuminated. It is through this window that Man can see
the true Light. He is the prophet of the Uighurs. It is from Mani that
we seek solace in misfortune. Although my nation is no more, my faith
lives on. It is in my prophet that my nation lives on and I know that
I am a noble prince of Uighur. The prophet is the pillar of my people
in exile, the pillar of my existence."
The old man, with a mysterious smile: "Oh no, my Lord the
Prince, don't let your existence blind you. You receive the Light
through the Heart. Your Ego is the curtain of the Heart; Nation is the
Ego of Humanity. Who are the prophets? What are the prophets but the
Light's shadow on Nations?" It took Tughlug quite a while to
contemplate on the old man's words, and then the prince burst into a
malignant laughter: "Hahaha, old fool… haha… I understand, I
understand that you are a mad, mad man…"
Tughlug then gathered his entourage and marched off in the
direction of Babylon again. Miles away from the giant cliffs, Tughlug
suddenly decided to turn back. Rowshan volunteered to go back alone
and chop that old man into pieces. But the prince stopped his horse
and gazed at the cliffs, murmured: " I've dreamed him… I've dreamed
him at the end of Babylon…"
By the way, later the prince bypassed the cliffs and Samarkand
on his way up to the marshes of Syr Darya. It is where he joined the
Oghuz nomads. There he would convert to Islam. One of his sons,
Seljuk, would seize Babylon, then called Baghdad and presided over an
empire reaching from Khorasan to Rum. The sons of Seljuk would see
Baghdad razed to the ground by the Mongols. But then an Oghuz vassal
of the Seljuks would again found a great empire extending from Iraq to
Europe to North Africa. It was these Ottomans, as they were call, who
proclaimed themselves to be the Caliphs of the Prophet, Amir of the
Faithful. And then, inevitably, this empire also fell.
Now the faithful of Islam lament the downfall of the
Caliphate. Some turn their grief and prayers into zeal and answer the
encroaching enemy forces with bullets and bombs.
It is a wintry day when the Taliban of Afghanistan capture
Bamiyan, where the great statues of Buddha stand. A Taliban minister,
as soon as he gets off the jeep, passes through the mortared rubbles
and corpses of Hazara fighters, and walks straight up to the open
ground facing the two badly weathered giants. He beholds these
monuments of awe, face turned red with intense zeal, and murmured:
"I've dreamed him… the mad man… I've dreamed him at the end of the
World…" And then he orders the demolition of the statues.

More Ali-Reza oddness

The death of Prince Ali-Reza on January 4, 2011 of a gunshot to the head under mysterious circumstances in Boston is one of great importance for Iran and World affairs. With the death of Ali-Reza the Pahlavi dynasty is effectively at an end, for reza Pahlavi has no proper heirs, and by this reza has demonstrated a complete neglect of duty and a pattern of disgraceful behavior which goes back to the 1980’s, and the handling of Ali-Reza’s death is the latest in this series of events.

Had the Pahlavi’s really cared about the death of Ali-Reza they would have made sure a thorough investigation was done into his death. Instead of making sure the Boston police did a thorough investigation of Ali-Reza’s death. Instead, they were quick to go along with reza Pahlavi’s lame excuse that his death was a suicide brought on by depression. It was the Iranian community in the Boston area, be they royalists or not, to notice that the Boston police did not do a proper investigation, that is not examining the neighbors, not checking for signs of forced entry, not handling the suicide note that was supposedly found and examining it properly, no proper ballistics test on the gun which supposedly killed Ali-Reza, in short doing everything to give cause to suspect his death was not a suicide. On top of it all reza Pahlavi chose to remain in Boston only for January 5, leaving that day and not attending any memorial services there for his brother or to meet with members of the Iranian community there who were effected by his loss.

As with any murder we must ask the question who benefits and who has benefitted. Certainly the Iranian community have not benefitted, that includes the mullahs. After all, as much as the mullahs were against Mohammed Reza Shah they as Muslims never would sanction any assassination that would create a topkill scenario for any family of their believers as this has done. Were one to spend time in his neighborhood one would notice many hangouts for anarchists, political activists, and other radical action groups in the area, be they at colleges, bookstores, restaurants, or clubs, in other words plenty of place a potential assassin or terrorist would have to hang out while staking out Ali-Reza without drawing too much attention to themselves. The one remaining thing to succeed would be to have enough influence to make sure that the authorities would regard it as a suicide. At present not only have the Boston pd done a botch job in investigating Ali-Reza’s death no federal law enforcement agency is willing to investigate as well. This same scenario occurred around the strange deaths of Prince Shahriar, Princess Leila, Queen Soraya and Bijan Bakhtiari, Shabour Bakhtiar, Fereydoun Farrokhzad, which leads one to conclude that there was endorsement at some government level of any assassination.

However cremation would be an excellent way to cover up the true cause of death, which the Pahlavi’s clearly do not want know. Bear in mind that in Farah’s memoirs she clearly states she authorized a doctor to perform a procedure on Princess Leila which resulted in Leila’s death, after Leila had told Farah she did not want any contact with her.

Consider also why reza would not remain in Boston after January 5, nor would he and Farah attend any memorial services for Ali-Reza outside of Bethesda. Clearly they were afraid that someone in the Iranian community would have confronted them about the inconsistences with Ali-Reza’s death. Furthermore, form their behavior and the way the media related the news, I for instance did not learn the details until the morning of January 5 while doing work for RI’s Judiciary, it is clear the days of power and influence for the Pahlavi’s are over.

Egypt protests: America's secret backing for rebel leaders behind
uprising
The American government secretly backed leading figures behind the
Egyptian uprising who have been planning “regime change” for the
past three years, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

The American Embassy in Cairo helped a young dissident attend a
US-sponsored summit for activists in New York, while working to keep his
identity secret from Egyptian state police.

On his return to Cairo in December 2008, the activist told US diplomats
that an alliance of opposition groups had drawn up a plan to overthrow
President Hosni Mubarak and install a democratic government in 2011.

He has already been arrested by Egyptian security in connection with the
demonstrations and his identity is being protected by The Daily
Telegraph.

The crisis in Egypt follows the toppling of Tunisian president Zine
al-Abedine Ben Ali, who fled the country after widespread protests
forced him from office.


The disclosures, contained in previously secret US diplomatic dispatches
released by the WikiLeaks website, show American officials pressed the
Egyptian government to release other dissidents who had been detained by
the police.

Mr Mubarak, facing the biggest challenge to his authority in his 31
years in power, ordered the army on to the streets of Cairo yesterday as
rioting erupted across Egypt.

Tens of thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets in
open defiance of a curfew. An explosion rocked the centre of Cairo as
thousands defied orders to return to their homes. As the violence
escalated, flames could be seen near the headquarters of the governing
National Democratic Party.

Police fired rubber bullets and used tear gas and water cannon in an
attempt to disperse the crowds.

At least five people were killed in Cairo alone yesterday and 870
injured, several with bullet wounds. Mohamed ElBaradei, the pro-reform
leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, was placed under house arrest after
returning to Egypt to join the dissidents. Riots also took place in
Suez, Alexandria and other major cities across the country.

William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, urged the Egyptian government to
heed the “legitimate demands of protesters”. Hillary Clinton, the US
Secretary of State, said she was “deeply concerned about the use of
force” to quell the protests.

In an interview for the American news channel CNN, to be broadcast
tomorrow, David Cameron said: “I think what we need is reform in
Egypt. I mean, we support reform and progress in the greater
strengthening of the democracy and civil rights and the rule of law.”

The US government has previously been a supporter of Mr Mubarak’s
regime. But the leaked documents show the extent to which America was
offering support to pro-democracy activists in Egypt while publicly
praising Mr Mubarak as an important ally in the Middle East.

In a secret diplomatic dispatch, sent on December 30 2008, Margaret
Scobey, the US Ambassador to Cairo, recorded that opposition groups had
allegedly drawn up secret plans for “regime change” to take place
before elections, scheduled for September this year.

The memo, which Ambassador Scobey sent to the US Secretary of State in
Washington DC, was marked “confidential” and headed: “April 6
activist on his US visit and regime change in Egypt.”

It said the activist claimed “several opposition forces” had
“agreed to support an unwritten plan for a transition to a
parliamentary democracy, involving a weakened presidency and an
empowered prime minister and parliament, before the scheduled 2011
presidential elections”. The embassy’s source said the plan was
“so sensitive it cannot be written down”.

Ambassador Scobey questioned whether such an “unrealistic” plot
could work, or ever even existed. However, the documents showed that the
activist had been approached by US diplomats and received extensive
support for his pro-democracy campaign from officials in Washington. The
embassy helped the campaigner attend a “summit” for youth activists
in New York, which was organised by the US State Department.

Cairo embassy officials warned Washington that the activist’s identity
must be kept secret because he could face “retribution” when he
returned to Egypt. He had already allegedly been tortured for three days
by Egyptian state security after he was arrested for taking part in a
protest some years earlier.

The protests in Egypt are being driven by the April 6 youth movement, a
group on Facebook that has attracted mainly young and educated members
opposed to Mr Mubarak. The group has about 70,000 members and uses
social networking sites to orchestrate protests and report on their
activities.

The documents released by WikiLeaks reveal US Embassy officials were in
regular contact with the activist throughout 2008 and 2009, considering
him one of their most reliable sources for information about human
rights abuses.

Oddness in Prince Ali-Reza’s death

As of late there are inconsistencies in the reports of Prince Ali-Reza’s untimely death. Here they are.
1. The boston police have refused to rule his partner, Sara Tabatabai, or any of his neighbors as a murder suspect, insisting on Sara’s story that it was a suicide.
2. The boston police did not properly contain the crime scene, literally allowing people to freely access the building and neighborhood during the investigation, thus not allowing to check if anyone had broken in or had behaved suspiciously.
3. Neither reza Pahlavi or the boston police are willing to release any copy of the suicide note or make it available for examination by experts.
4. His family is insisting he suffered from depression when he exhibited no signs of it throughout his life.
5. despite reportedly being at the Fairmount Copley Place hotel reza Pahlavi has not organized any funeral service arrangements in boston, despite the large Iranian community there no memorial services there are planned, and plans to cremate Ali-Reza’s body, which goes against Muslim practice, and dump the ashes in the Caspian Sea, despite the Pahlavis being unable to enter Iran at present.
On a personal note the last time I was at an event with Prince Ali-Reza was exactly 5 years ago today at a casmii forum at MIT, and I regularly walked by his house during my trips to boston.

Last night I heard the news of the death of Prince Ali-Reza, son of
Mohammed Reza Shah, in Boston.
Like many, this news has shocked me, but we must keep ourselves calm in
this time.
We must seek the truth regarding his death, as the press reports are too
dismissive. Like Princess Leila, Queen Soyara, Bijan Bakhtiari, and
other untimely deaths of Iranians, this is another shocker and must be
investigated. We must not let grief cloud our judgment.
Of importance as well is how his passing will be observed. Personally
distressing is he died on the last day of Maidyarem Ghambar. Even more
distressing is the fact that with all the press regarding his death no
memorial services have been planned.
As with any tragedy we must work together to become stronger from a loss
like this.

More online oddness

Recently I noticed on wednesday through friday major oddness on facebook. Currently I have been working on a project there on naval satellite imaging, which tuesday night revieved support from members of the us military. From wednesday to friday I experienced trouble on my facebook account when uploading images or editing that page, but not since then. During those days someone linked up to me there who uses the name persia pele, real name marjan faritous of santa clara, got it in her head to pull another of her crazy acts, this time directing it at me by bragging she was a cia snitch. Since friday I have blocked that jendeh-e-amrika from my sites, as this kind of behavior in this day and age is inexcusable, and certainly not coincidental. It certainly is not coincidence that this occured imeadeatly after my celebrating dick holbrooke's death and the stuxnet virus being stopped. As we say where I live you join the snitches you get stiches.

To say the least I am overjoyed to hear that this piece of human shit
who has caused suffering for me personally and for millions got his, I
am only sad I did not whack this fucker myself. Not only was he
responsible for the legal problems I experienced at brown and the watson
institute by falsely claiming I was menacing him and giving the brown
pigs permission to use his third floor office as a stakeout point
against me, not to mention taking my writings from Chapter 8 of my first
book and twisting my material to cause problems in Iran, Afghanistan,and
Pakistan, he also created conflict in Easterm Europe,in short caused
suffering to people in lands my father's family comes from. My
condolonces go to Jovanka Tito, Mira Markovic, and those in Eastern
Europe and Western and Central Asia and throughout the World, even in
america, who felt his menaced in the name of peace for america,and I
must thank Chris Lydon for tipping me off in the summer of 2008 that

December 14, 2010 Ambassador Richard Holbrooke is being remembered at
Brown and around the world today for his wide-ranging diplomatic
achievements, following his death yesterday at the age of 69. University
President Ruth Simmons issued a statement last night mourning the loss
of a man who was a commanding figure on the world stage but also an
engaged member of the Brown community, as a graduate of the
University’s class of ’62, former editor of the Brown Daily Herald,
honorary Brown doctor of law, former member of the Watson Institute’s
board of overseers, and most recently, Brown professor at large based at
the Institute.

While a professor here, prior to assuming the role of US special envoy
to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Holbrooke focused his attention on students
– holding study groups on such subjects as “Secrets of Diplomatic
Styles” and urging students to get involved in the world around them.
“You’ve got to get engaged and you mustn’t despair,” he said in
a major lecture on campus in October 2007. “It’s your opportunity to
participate and I urge you to do so.”

He also contributed his singular insight in collaboration with faculty
members on such research activities as the Human Terrain documentary on
US military strategy in Afghanistan and Iraq and on the book project for
Blue Helmets, Black Markets: The Business of Survival in the Siege of
Sarajevo.

Holbrooke, who is most recognized as the chief architect of the 1995
Dayton peace agreement that ended the war in Bosnia, “lived a life of
courage, usefulness and reputation,” President Simmons said. “Though
we will miss his presence and determination, his legacy will endure,

interesting is how he is afraid to be quoted on this, and if wiki-.org

New security measures after murders of Iranian Nuclear scientists

Hopefully Iran will make these measures tighter, not only for

Tehran to Intensify Security Measures for Iranian Scientists

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian official announced that the country has
initiated proper measures to boost security for the Iranian scientists.

"We have been keen on [providing] security for our scientists and
specialists since last year, and based on a recent decision, protection
measures will be multiplied and other protection techniques will also be
applied," Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar
Salehi said on Thursday.

The announcement came two days after Two Iranian university professors
Fereidoon Abbasi Davani and Majid Shahriari were assassinated in
separate terrorist bomb attacks here in Tehran on Monday morning with
the latter killed immediately after the blast.

Another Iranian university professor and nuclear scientist, Massoud Ali
Mohammadi, was also assassinated in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in
January.

Tehran Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Sajedinia said a
motorcycle approached Shahriari's car and attached a bomb to the car
which exploded a few seconds later.

He added that in a separate incident terrorists attached another bomb to
Abbasi's car and escaped.

Salehi further said that the enemy has realized that Iran's nuclear
activities are progressing considerably well and have turned into a
power icon for the Iranian nation, so they are trying to deprive the
nation of this power.

Iran- wiki-media/leak connection NOT being reported

With all the fuss over wikileaks being reported people are forgetting
several important facts about wikimedia/leaks, and also how wikimedia
has been biased against Iran. Last night I got the niac newsletter
discussing wikileaks, however they ignored several important facts.
The first and most important is that wikimedia, be it wikipedia,
wikimapia, or wikileaks, is run by a cabal of some 400 people who are
connected largely by the internet. They are the ones who approve what
is said on wikimedia, whether it is true or not. If you doubt this go
to the discussion board on wikimapia and see how wikimapia created a n
korakine mentions this himself. Below are several excellent examples of
this.
1. Go to wikimapia and go to Bandar Abbas Navy base. There you will
see that the people who run wikimedia/mapia repeatedly edited it as
"main raghead navy base" and that the main dispute on wikimapia began
when a person who had served in the australian navy put up false
information about the Iranian Navy, even disputing the fact that the
Sahand was raised despite the fact one could clearly see the remnants of
the hull of the Sahand in Bandar Abbas drydock. That person made a
slipup when he leaked the adelaide incident, where the australian FFG
adelaide was detained for several hours by Iranian PT Craft near Bandar
Abbas, and the australian navy confirmed this shortly thereafter and
soon decomissioned the adelaide. The e-mail of that individual is
joewhi2000@yahoo.com and he continues to put out false and racist info
about Iran on wikimedia.
2. Check the wikipedia article for Princess Leila. Not only does it
repeatedly put out false info about her life, saying she graduated from
brown university when she in fact dropped out of there in 1991 after
being hazed, it wiwll not allow facts and evidence to be posted about
her murder on wikimedia/pedia, and anyone who tries to correct that
article by showing evidence her death was murder has their work undone.
Furthermore, the editors at wikimedia/pedia will NOT meet with anyone in
person to se any evidence supporting those who say Princess Leila was
murdered, as they do repeatedly with others they do not like and
slander.
Just go to wikimedia and see for yourself how Iran is slandered there,
you will find plenty of evidence.

Worm in Iran was perfect for sabotaging centrifuges

Experts dissecting the computer worm suspected of being aimed at
Iran’s nuclear program have determined that it was precisely
calibrated in a way that could send nuclear centrifuges wildly out of
control.

Their conclusion, while not definitive, begins to clear some of the fog
around the Stuxnet worm, a malicious program detected this year on
computers, primarily in Iran but also India, Indonesia and other
countries.

The paternity of the worm is still in dispute, but in recent weeks
officials from Israel have broken into wide smiles when asked whether
Israel was behind the attack, or knew who was. American officials have
suggested it originated abroad.

The new forensic work narrows the range of targets and deciphers the
worm’s plan of attack. Computer analysts say Stuxnet does its damage
by making quick changes in the rotational speed of motors, shifting them
rapidly up and down.

Changing the speed “sabotages the normal operation of the industrial
control process,” Eric Chien, a researcher at the computer security
company Symantec, wrote in a blog post.

Those fluctuations, nuclear analysts said in response to the report, are
a recipe for disaster among the thousands of centrifuges spinning in
Iran to enrich uranium, which can fuel reactors or bombs. Rapid changes
can cause them to blow apart. Reports issued by international inspectors
reveal that Iran has experienced many problems keeping its centrifuges
running, with hundreds removed from active service since summer 2009.

Intelligence officials have said they believe that a series of covert
programs are responsible for at least some of that decline. So when Iran
reported this year that it was battling the Stuxnet worm, many experts
immediately suspected that it was a state-sponsored cyberattack.

The computer analysis, Albright’s Wednesday report concluded, “makes
a legitimate case that Stuxnet could indeed disrupt or destroy”
Iranian centrifuge plants.

The latest evidence does not prove Iran was the target, and there have
been no confirmed reports of industrial damage linked to Stuxnet.

I just received these today. Though this may seem like saber rattling consider that the zionists mentioned here are desperate people who might take as many people with them as possible. Consider also that Iran is being considered the culprit in Missile launches off California and New York, when the former was done by a Chinese Type 94 class SSBN, the latter by a Russian Project 941 class SSBN, and that any excuse is being looked for to attack Iran. I pass this along without making any claims to verify its accuracy. From a NYC-based Israeli source, who just returned from Tel Aviv, where he met with senior IDF and Likud figures, including Netanyahu. He is one of the Likud "princes" whose father was one of Menachim Begin's closest personal friends. He is very close with Benny Begin.

During a one week recent stay in Israel, he conferred with a military grouping that he is a part of. They are generally opposed to the Iran war adventure and have a very active position within the current IDF hierarchy. The incoming IDF chief of staff, Gen. Galant, is a very independent-minded soldier, with his own strong views on the folly of an Iran attack. He is no pacifist. He was in charge of the commando units that carried out the Gaza Flotilla operation. He also ran a 16-man commando operation into southern Lebanon, tageting Hezbollah sites, which went afoul. Hezbollah had the capacity to intercept transmissions from Israeli surveillance drones that were coordinating with the commando team, and Hezbollah was able to stage an ambush, that killed 16 members of the IDF team. While the incident was totally hushed up, there is a serious IDF internal probe underway into the failed mission. Despite these setbacks, Galant was made the new COS of the IDF.

There is a serious conflict between MOD Barak and the outgoing COS Ashkenazi, over the way that Barak handled his replacement, appointing Galant months before the February 2011 turnover. Now, the Knesset has shortened the wait time before a retired IDF general can enter politics, from three years to 18 months. Ashkenazi is already planning a challenge to Barak for the chairmanship of the Labor Party in the next election, and he will have a great deal of support in that effort.

Source had a meeting with Netanyahu, and came away concluding that he is completely irrational, and stubbornly refusing to listen to advice, even from Benny Begin. Netanyahu is aware of the weakened political position of Obama, after the Nov. 2 midterm elections, and he plans to take advantage of this weakness to launch a hit against Iran. He has solicited and won the backing of Sarcozy in this. Bibi had several private meetings with Sarcozy. Sarcozy has agreed to support Israel in an attack on Iran, and the recent Anglo-French military alliance, forged during Sarcozy's recent visit to London, could be part of this French support for the Israeli attack on Iran. Shades of Suez 1956? An Israeli-French-British entente? Sarcozy came to this arrangement with Netanyahu, in opposition to the European Union's war-avoidance plans, which involve an approach to Iran, offering lucrative economic deals, if they freeze their nuclear program and remove the pretext for military action. Germany has emerged as the leading channel for this approach to Iran, and Sarcozy, in part, is reacting against Merkel's role in this EU effort.

The Israelis, during the Bush period, developed and partially tested a new bunker-buster weapon, which my source described as a "semi-nuke." This was tested in the past in Nevada and in South Africa, but it still is in the final testing phases, even though approximately 100 of these bombs have already been produced. The concern is that the fallout is strictly contained, and this requires some further refining. At least one of the Iranian sites targeted by Israeli planners is close enough to the Iraq border, that they are deeply concerned that no fallout crosses into areas where there are American forces. F-22 fighter jets "loaned" to Israel by President Bush have now been taken back by Obama, and so the French will provide top of the line Mirage jets to Israel. The French are also providing mid-air refueling for the dozen planes (backed by 250 aircraft altogether) that will carry out the bombing raid.

U.S. intelligence is aware of this situation, and Gates is deeply concerned that the situation has slipped out of any U.S. controls, due to indecision by Obama. This is a factor in Gates' determination to leave the Administration before August 2011.

For Israeli war planners, the biggest fear in not whether the operation itself will succeed or fail. The biggest concern is what will happen the day after. It is already factored into the equation that there will be very strong reactions to such an Israeli attack. The stock markets around the globe will crash, and other chaos could result. Israel will be clearly blamed and even further ostracized for the attack.

Israel is well aware of the Iranian retaliatory capabilities through Hezbollah and Hamas. They know that Iranian support for both groups has tripled in recent months. The strike plan developed by Ashkenazi involves attacks on southern Lebanon and Gaza, as the planes take off for their targets inside Iran.

Israeli war planners are aware of, and are factoring in several other possibilities. First, there is a belief that Syria could make a military move to take back the Golan Heights as Israeli forces are focused on these other targets. There is also a possibility of a military coup in Egypt, to prevent the succession of President Mubarak's son Gamal. Egypt could move into certain areas of the Sinai still held by Israel.

Israel is also aware of the danger of Pakistani strikes against Israel, in retaliation for the bombing of Iran. A French delegation is in Pakistan, in an effort to derail any Pakistani retaliation against Israel, which, of course, could involve the use of nuclear weapons, which would wipe Israel off the map.

Netanyahu does not have the support of even the Begin faction of Likud for this action. And if the attack takes place after February, when Gen. Galant takes over as COS of the IDF, he will refuse. Source suggests that Netanyahu has significant respect for Bill and Hillary Clinton, and they could possibly dissuade him from taking this reckless action. There was last week an eight-and-a-half hour meeting between Bibi and Hillary, and when she came out she said, "We still don't see eye-to-eye." The prospect of some kind of political deal or shakeup in Israel, in which Kadima could come into a grand secular coalition and kill this crazy war scheme, is not very real. Source believes that Avigdor Lieberman has sufficient power to block any move to oust him. He is too powerful to dump. Benny Begin met with him at length to get him to tone down the rhetoric. He was not particularly successful. He has built up a tremendous power base among the one million-plus Russian emigre.

When might such an operation be launched? My source believes that, if it does not happen before December 10, it will next be on the table for March or April 2011. Netanyahu is considering, but has not finalized in his mind, to order strikes in late November 2010. All IDF vacations have been suspended as of this week; and IDF officers studying abroad have been summoned home temporarily. The line circulating around is: "No repeat of the Yom Kippur War when Israel was caught by surprise."

intelligence warned his political superiors that the next major war
Israel encountered would likely result in much higher Israeli
casualties, especially to civilians (because) enemy missiles have a much longer reach, and can hit targets
throughout Israel. The Iranian master plan is for Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran to simultaneously fire as
many missiles and rockets into Israel as they can...If the Syrians used chemical warheads,
Israeli casualties could be as high as 16,000. Over 200,000 Israelis
would be left homeless, and it's believed about a 100,000 would seek
to leave the country...No unclassified government planning documents have
discussed what Israel would do in response to such an attack, but in
the past, Israel has threatened to use nukes against anyone who fired
chemical weapons at Israel (which does not have any chemical
weapons). But current plans appear to try and keep it non-nuclear for
as long as possible.

Israel commentator Emanuel Winston is panicking already:"They will target Israeli cities with a saturation missile attack. Therefore, Israel has no valid reason to follow any rules of retrained warfare...Consequently, Israel’s rules of engagement should first authorize preemptive attacks to hit all Arab/Muslim cities – including the small towns where Hezb’Allah has implanted missile launchers among their civilians, to strike every military base and, specifically, to take out key leaders hidden in their bunkers. This should be done with tactical nukes, air fuel bombs, sub-munition bomblets, EMP (Electro-Magnetic-Pulse) explosives that disable every computer-driven vehicle or gadget – in addition to every conventional weapon available. "

And well he should panic. What Israel's military leaders are now saying publicly is merely a hint, not the likely gruesome assessments for the actual Arab master plan going into effect. Summarized one would read:

The plan was to prevent Israel from getting organized by defeating it immediately in an assault of 80,000 missiles in one night. Israel has no defense against even one missile and would collapse quickly in the face of a torrent of rocket fire.
The attack began at 11 PM on a Friday night. Half the army was at home on Shabbat leaves, and in Tel Aviv thousands of young soldiers were in dance clubs. Tel Aviv was the city targeted with 10,000 missiles, many accurate to within a few meters. At 11:04 the missiles landed on the clubs. Dancing was exchanged for death in an instant. Sirens throughout the country alerted the citizenry of the attack but already it was too late for hundreds of victims. Missiles successfully struck the Reading and Hadera power plants and the coast went black. Attacks on the Paz Junction fuel depot caused a huge fireball that spread the flames through North Tel Aviv as far as Herzlia. Those trapped in rubble or fire had no one to extricate them. Even if rescue teams and ambulances could make it through the rutted streets, the searing heat, the encompassing darkness punctuated by the outlines of buildings engulfed in fire, it would have made no difference. Hospitals like Ichilov and Sheba were on their way to becoming gutted ruins.
In concert with Tel Aviv in deadly chaos, waves of missiles attacked airbases, especially Tel Nof and Nir David. Runways were unusable and crews were too overwhelmed to be effective. A combination of Russian surface to air missiles and deep bunkers would have made missions to neutralize the missile sites daunting in any case. With the Air Force barely functioning, the barrage was enjoying unforeseen freedom to continue with all its aims. Learning the lessons of the '06 war, the Israeli Navy was subjected to vicious land to sea missile attacks. Damage to the Dimona Nuclear Power Reactor threatens to become uncontrollable.
Jerusalem was barely targeted, but the destruction of the Knesset and the Israel Museum were deemed justifiable targets. The Dead Sea Scrolls are presumed to have charred beyond recognition in this attack of 70 pinpoint missiles.
Hizbullah and Hamas fifth columns in Israel carried out precise attacks on roads, blowing deep pits in them at locations which could not be bypassed. The army could not reach endangered villages. A 5000 man Hizbullah force has broken through to Metulla and is conducting door to door operations. Even the city's leftists who caused the growing tragedy by appeasing the Islam of permanent war, were not spared.
On the Judean Hills, settlers watched an orange glow on the horizon, interrupted only by missiles landing or gas pipes exploding. Tel Aviv was dying. Those Tel Avivans who could, escaped to the Negev where local tribes and Gazans, who poured into the desert looking for easy pickings, found them. At Hebron, an IDF radio plea to save the Jews there was most telling. "We need reinforcements. We're almost out of ammunition and we are surrounded by a hundred thousand Arabs." The reply was curt and distressing. "All roads are impassible. You're on your own."
What happened there is illustrative of the mass execution of Israelis throughout the new nation of Palestine. Gangs would barge into homes, keep the parents alive long enough to see their children raped, tortured and murdered. Then the husband would be forced to watch his wife slowly screaming in agony while mutilated and raped. The husband, who until recently had a slogan, "Never Again," now knows Never is back bigger and faster than ever. If he's lucky, he'll be kept alive for only and hour or two of violent Islamic justice.
As for God, He didn't show up. We assume He's out of miracles.

Coincidence, I think not.

Why Caprio lost

Like many in RI the results of the governor’s race has me upset. Frank Caprio, one of the few honest political leaders and a superb jurist, lost the race for governor after starting out with a strong lead in the polls. I and many who know Frank and the Caprios are in as much shock as the rest of the state. As with any loss by a prominent person many rumors are being kicked around as to why this loss occurred. Here I will sift through the reasons why, separating fact from fiction, for a unique perspective of one who knows the candidates and people involved, and was sought after by many in the race to work on their team.
The conclusion that Caprio’s “Shove it” remark was the killer is simply a convenient excuse. While some in RI were mad at him for that remark, nationally it made him a hero, for finally a prominent member of the Democratic party had the courage to stand up to those in the party who were giving it a bad reputation with their failed politics, namely those affiliated with the group acorn. Those who were at the Biltmore on election night will recall I had a confrontation with an acorn member in the mens room after he had broken a toilet, and others there present not only felt uncomfortable around acorn members present but experienced health problems as well, and I and others had arguments with many acorn members that night there as well. These are the same acorn punks who played a role in the 2010 races for providence mayor and 1st congressional district who backed linc chafee against Frank Caprio. While the “Shove it” may have caused short term hurt it was good in the long run for it builds momentum for the Democratic party to go after the rot and make itself stronger.
If anything a comment I had made to lincoln chafee at the RI state house on April 29, 2010 where I cussed him out in the Governor’s reception room when he approached me acting as if he didn’t recognize me. While my outburst may have been well deserved it prevented me from providing open assistance to the Caprio team for it would have provided any substance for any negative rumors spread by Caprio’s opponents, and Caprio’s family and friends agreed that I made a wise move by not openly campaigning for Frank Caprio after my outburst, as the negative attacks and rumors did enough damage as it was. Few even realize that the circumstances leading up to that particular incident were coincidental. The night before RI’s Mental Health Advocate had told me to meet him there on that date and time to handle an emergency situation that had arisen last night before, not notifying me of anything that was to go on at the RI state house beforehand. To make matters worse the event was being covered by wjar, who I had serious issues with after the ruined the life of someone close to me in 2008. Furthermore, several other candidates had asked for my involvement in their campaigns and followed me online as an information other than Caprio and Chafee, including Ken Block, Robert Healey, John Lombardi, Chris Young, and Kara Russo, which underscores the real reason for that incident not being political, but one personal stemming back to a dispute with brown university.
Despite the fact that Caprio used me as a source of information he didn’t always use the information and resources he had at hand, no matter who it was from. This was apparent in the debates and in responses to personal attacks from other candidates. For instance he did not relate his family’s experiences in immigrating to america early on in the campaign when discussing illegal immigrants in RI, thus losing the empathy of the larger latino/hispanic community which make that a major issue. When dealing with the lgbt community on the issue of same-sex marriage he stumbled there as well. When a lgbt goup pulled it’s support for his proposing that same-sex marriage be put to a voter initiave he could have drawn on the knowledge of the Judges of his father’s providence Municipal Court, who know that living conditions for married couples, be they straight or lgbt, are such that to get married in RI is to only make one’s living condition worse, hence the support of a popular vote. If anything during debates Frank Caprio seemed off on certain issues and in debates with more than four candidates let the independent candidates sound off on the tough issues. One example is how in July 2010 during a debate on health care Caprio said something nice about RI district court judge erickson, who had been profiled in the news recently. What Caprio forgot is that judge erickson’s policies of committing people into treatment programs only made lives worse for people by putting normal people into programs which caused health problems for them, putting a drain on the health care system, and which was responsible for causing prison overcrowding by imprisoning people who fought back against treatment. This lapse was noticed by linc chafee, who got erickson on his campaign team, and the only person in the mainstream media who picked up on this was former Providence mayor Cianci. Despite being a Harvard graduate he failed to discuss the programs Harvard has where poor people who have talent can use them to find work, and had he done so he would have struck a strong cord with many of his low income supporters.
This leads into another factor, out of all the leading candidates for Governor Caprio made himself hard to access. His campaign hq was in a location far away from a bus route, unlike chafee, robitaille, or Block, and despite his popularity he did not put a schedule of appearances like chafee and Block did. This made it difficult for many of his supporters, particularly independent voters who were big Caprio supporters could not get to his events, and many felt disappointed in not being able to get more personally involved. Just as bad was that his supporters were not always properly notified in advance of events, with the exception of the Bill Clinton visits. For instance Caprio supporters were not notified of the October 14, 2010 debate until hours before it occurred, thus preventing key supporters from attending. I know this as I revieved the e-mail notifying me of that debate only a few hours before when I was in Westerly, and I was too far away to make it there in time, and had I been there it is certain the tide of the debate would have went in his favor. If anyone doubts this ask those who attended the October 29, 2010 debate, they will remember that once I chimed in from the audience wjar’s people didn’t dare stop audience reactions. Overall, blame for this lapse of not connecting with the people in a more open manner must lay with his campaign staff.
Even worse were those endorsing Caprio when they were really causing problems for him. For instance the providence journal endorsed Caprio while it’s reporters made him look negative and gave prominent coverage to chafee, therefore making no positive endorsement. Another twofaced Caprio supporter was Alfred carpionato, who raised money for Caprio while making living conditions for some of his tenants difficult, even to the point of disenfranchising them from voting, thus attacking a potential source of votes for Caprio. Had Caprio addressed this he could have had a stronger support base.
If anything the media was strongly anti-Caprio, if not totally allowing every cheap shot to be made at Frank Caprio and his family, even tolerating racist attacks against him. The phoenix, golocalprov, wjar, and twitter were and continue to be at the forefront of these attacks, and even the providence journal continues with hardly anyone in the local mainstream media.
Overall, this 2010 loss for the Caprio’s is not their own fault, rather that of those around them who did not realize the resources they had at their disposal. If Frank Caprio wants to be Governor in 2014 he will need to surround himself with people who are sharp and in touch with the people and his supporters, open and covert, and will have to stand up to the rot in the Democrat party that is acorn which cost him the governor’s race and did to the Democrats in 2010 what the neocons did to the Republicans in 2006. After dreams never die, we just wake up, and Frank Caprio’s dream of becoming governor can still be made real.

Dishing the facts on sissyweenie's Ri congressional run

Those voters in RI’s 1st congressional district who think that they are doing good by voting for the sodomite who is in the mayor’s office needs to think again. Anyone who takes a hard look at his past deeds will realize they are voting for someone as bad as the devil.
As a RI state representative he only came out as being gay after investigations and inquiries regarding reports of him raping other men. During this period he also tampered with evidence in the operation plunder dome trial. As a lawyer he often dropped the ball on many cases, most of his courtroom victories the result of backroom dealings and press manipulation rather than courtroom litigation.
As mayor sissyweenie took providence straight to hell in a handbasket. He hired a police chief with no experience as a street officer who implemented aggressive policing tactics, which only increased crime by often mistreating people, innocent or guilty, and thus turning the city into a powder keg. Amazingly he and those at city hall ignored the fact that crime went down in the last city this person was chief, Stamford CT, once he took the job in providence, and his “reforms” in Stamford were undone. The Providence Firefighters had it bad under sissyweenie, for not only would he not give them a contract but he cut funding to the fire department and withheld essential materials and information from them. For instance, he felt it was unnecessary for them to know if habitual prank 911 callers had infectious diseases like AIDS. He gave bloated salaries to city officials who often did nothing at work, for example most of the staff at the providence public library not only did nothing but used their jobs to snoop on their patrons. This rot in city hall led to businesses not wanting to do business in providence, and the only businesses that have thrived are those few with a large consumer base or those that are corrupt. An example is sissyweenie’s alma mater brown university. During his administration brown brought up real estate for commercial use, expanded it’s medical program to include legalized medical torture of people in experiments, while gutting it’s academics and using it’s police and security to harass their opponents, particularly the poor in the area.
The poor of providence suffered the most during sissyweenie’s administration. Coding of Virus Attacking Iran May Refer to Queen Esther

Moslehi said Sunday that his country is under cyber attack, and blamed
the United States and Israel. Iranian officials initially admitted that
their country had been hit by the Stuxnet computer worm, but insisted
that the damage was minimal.

Iran has been forced to push back the opening of the nuclear plant in
Bushehr. Senior Information and Technology official Hamid Alipour
admitted that while Iranian officials had hoped to clean up the worm's
infiltration in under two months, that hope had been proven unrealistic.
“The worm is not stable, and since we started the cleanup process,
three new versions have been spreading,” he said.

Stuxnet hit Iran much harder than any other nation, affecting an
estimated 62,000 systems. A total of 100,000 computers are thought to
have been hit with the worm worldwide. The worm was designed to target
software created by the German company Siemens; Iran relies heavily on
Siemens systems.

Israel has been among the top suspects in the creation of the Stuxnet
worm, due both to Israeli opposition to Iran's unsupervised nuclear
program, and to the complexity of the attacker, which experts say could
only have been created by a team with significant funding, resources and
expertise.

Stuxnet is uniquely dangerous in that it can not only cause damage to a
system, but can take control of facilities, producing physical,
real-world results to an attack. The worm also studies its targets,
determining which type of system it has entered before deciding whether
or not to attack. To date, it has entered primarily systems that control
critical infrastructure.

Even the worm's discovery has not stopped its destructive power.
Attackers remain able to communicate with infected machines using
peer-to-peer networking.

A detailed analysis released by security firm Symantec revealed two
clues that, according to Wired.com, may indicate Israeli involvement in
the attack – or may indicate that another country is trying to
implicate Israel in the attack. Two file directory names, “myrtus”
and “guava,” could be an allusion to the biblical Queen Esther, who
intervened to save the Jewish people from destruction at the hands of a
Persian king. Persia is now known as Iran.

Esther was also known as Hadassah, a name which means “myrtle” in
Hebrew. Guavas are in the myrtle family of fruit.

A second possible hint at Israeli involvement is the halt marker
19790509, a possible reference to the date May 9, 1979, when Iran
executed Persian Jew Habib Elghanian, prompting the mass exodus of
Iranian Jews from the newly Islamic state.

The Symantec analysis was released in an attempt to get information on
what, exactly, Stuxnet is targeting.

Queen Esther seems to be a ubiquitous symbol, imagined or otherwise. Two
years ago, an Egyptian cleric called for a boycott of Starbucks' Coffee
after he claimed to have identified the image of Queen Esther in its
logo.

Odd actions by chafee

Recently I have experienced oddness from the linc chafee team. Yesterday I received notice that linc chafee was following me on twitter, below is what I got in my inbox

This came the day after I sent an e-mail to linc’s brother greg, who I know from the world affairs council RI/hope club, as he is president of wacri, asking him why I continue to receive wac mailings one year after my membership had been terminated. Essentially, my membership with wacri was cut after an outburst at having to be put in the same room with the person who directed me to the bupd hq on April 14, 2008, a catherine hanni, who I learned was a board member of wacri, and had I know that beforehand I never would have been involved with them. That is one example of linc’s cronyism. While Buddy Cianci has called out linc for his goldman sucks ties through brown most people forget about linc’s cfr cronies who he and I dealt with while we were both at watson. Notice how people ignore the fact that he was let out of his contract with brown/watson so he could run for governor but dick holbrooke was allowed to remain a professor at large while campaigning for the dyke clinton and while doing dirty work for that same dyke in Iran/Afghanistan/Pakistan once she became secretary of state. While linc followed me out of salomon in October 2007 after I made a jackass out if dick during his lecture there linc certainly went silent during my legal dealings with brown. Then again, seeing how many of his finaicial backers in RI are cronies of that bank, washington trust, it is not surprising that linc is chicken to go against the tide against his own cash cronies.
And as usual NOBODY has taken up my offers to share documents, be it the wac mailings I received or in regards to linc’s cronies, or the cronies of any other candidate. Apparently most people out here are afraid to put their money where their mouth is.
