On this day 40 years ago Arteshbot Gholam-Ali Oveissi was murdered in paris on the orders of ayatollah khomeinei as he was preparing to return to Iran and lead a military coup to remove jomhori mollah and effect a Gilanshahi restoration

Five years previously he had been removed from the command of the Iranian Army by HIM Mohammed Reza Shah as he used Mohammed Reza Shah's refusal to kill khomeinei and his followers as justification to attempt to seize control of Iran. His murder set back attempts to restore Iran to the Gilanshahi rule and has made us Gilanshahi like myself work more closely with Artesh to work for restoration while preventing foreign powers from exploiting Iran.
